Great Mascara Round-Up: Week 2

I admittedly, am a tad late with this, but I am sure you'll deal. Last week was my first week with mascara number three Revlon's GrowLusicious, but the week before that I used Maybelline's The Falsies as my mascara for the week.

The Falsies claims to make "More visible lashes, Fill in gaps, and add Instant volume" with it's "Unique flexible wand (that) helpsto lift a d separate lashes to provide the look of more lashes. Patented Spoon brush and Kera-fiber formula instantly builds 5x more volume without clumping to complete the false look." From package

I got this mascara in the waterproof formula, because from time to time there is a need for a waterproof mascara, and when I bought this I didn't have one. I have to say that I have a love hate relationship with waterproof mascara; I love the fact that it is waterproof, but I hate that it is so hard to get off. I am still looking for the perfect waterproof makeup remover. Any suggestions? I accidentally bought this in brownish black instead of black, but it goes on dark, dark enough that is looks like a regular black.

Left lashes: the Falsies v.s Right lashes: naked

When I started my round-up I thought that this would be my favourite of the bunch, but now that I have used it I'm not so sure. Granted, it is an alright mascara. I don't really have any negative comments, but let's be serious; it will not look like false lashes. I knew it wouldn't, I mean how can they fill gaps? Mascara can't grab onto lashes that were never there in the first place (shocker!) As I said, this isn't a bad mascara, but it can't do what they claim it can, and really, no mascara can. I was prepared to say that I liked the way it lenghted but not the fact that it was lacking in the volume department, but after reviewing my photo I can say that I am happy with the volume it added. The only thing I would change about this mascara is that I found the formula to be quite wet. To apply it the way the package suggests "hold brush with spoon side against lashes and sweep from root to tip" I end up with little wet mascara freckles. Overall thought a good mascara. The spoon brush doesn't really matter to me, but I liked the slim tip as it made it super easy to get to all the bitty lashes.

Have you used this mascara? What did you think?

  1. I think it lengthens well, but does not give that falsies effect that people were expecting at all.

  6. I bought this mascara a month ago and gave it a try.
I wouldn't say it's the best, But it's not the worst either.
I didn't really like it cz like you say it's pretty wet, and my eye lashes doesn't curl and stay up like it said it did.
