Review: M Lab Anti-Aging Treatment Cream

Looks like custard...

"Anti-aging" products aren't really something I tend to gravitate towards, but I got this trial size ( a very generous trial size) pot in a mix bag of products, so of course I am going to give it a try.
After washing my face a few nights ago, I wandered off to bed. Once there I realized I hadn't moisturized so I reached for my sample drawer, where I found this in my "deluxe" sample bucket. At first I wasn't going to use it, give it to my mom possibly, but after a little sample of it on my hand I thought I might as well use it.

When I review most products, I like to look up the product websites or the company, and while I was looking up M Lab I was surprised to see the price difference between the Shopping Channel (where mine was bought) and the company. This is one majorly pricey product! But the Shopping Channel sells it for $30 cheaper than the makers and that is without any currency difference. I figured it out that at the M Lab prices my 15 ml /.5 oz pot would cost $58.33 USD. Wow, I would never spend that much on night cream. Oh, this is a night cream by the way, that isn't mentioned in the name, oddly enough. Each website had different things to say about the product, so I thought I would offer up both descriptions:

You know it's expensive when it has a batch number (/sarcasm)

"FORMULATED WITH 68% CLINICALLY ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
a matrix of peptides, anti-oxidants and hydration factors provide skin firming, retained softness, dermal elasticity, and the reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles"- M Lab

"If you're experiencing the visible signs of aging and are concerned with fine & deep lines, wrinkles, large pores, lack of firmness, loss of elasticity or dry skin, this Anti-Aging Treatment Cream from M LAB® has been shown to help improve the look of your skin. This powerful treatment contains clinically tested ingredients and powerful anti-oxidants to create a night-time treatment that not only helps to provide moisture, but also helps produce the look of skin clarity and a generally more youthful complexion." - The Shopping Channel

the perfect constancy!

I have to say that I don't have any wrinkles or any of the typical reasons one would specifically use a night cream for, I am more so just reviewing the cream as a whole. Sorry if you wanted to know how well it busted wrinkles. Continuing, from the first little bit of this cream that I tried I really liked it. It was really smooth, the perfect consistency for my liking, not too thin but not really thick either. It only took a little dab to cover my whole face (which is a plus, considering the price.) This cream applied really well and absorbed fast with no oily feeling or shine.

The next morning I was very happy that my face felt so soft and really quite moisturized. I have noticed over the week or so of use my dry skin areas have really improved. The only downside to this product is that when I use it I wake up with a major oil slick on my face, and this morning I had little bitty pimples all over my face. They were very small and sporadic, but not the norm for me. I attribute the abnormal behavior of my skin to this cream, which is too bad because other than that I quite liked. I told my mom about it, so now she is pumped that she gets the cream. Worked out well for her!

Have you tried this cream or anything by M Lab? What is your favourite facial moisturizer? I need your help, as my current one is almost done and I have no intention of replacing it again. I tried a sample of Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Cream and liked that, but I'm not sure.

P.S Happy (belated) Halloween!
