2010 Year In Review (Pic Heavy)

The whole gang

I am probably the last blogger to get to this, but I knew it would take me some time to put together, and I honestly was putting it off. Over the past few days I have slowly been filling a big storage container with all of my nominees for this list. It was hard! Considering I haven't been doing this blog full time for a year yet, I still have quite the little collection of products.

Some items are not shown, simply because I forgot to add them with their group photos, and some are currently not in my possession. Also, in preparing this I have found a ton of things that I haven't reviewed yet, I didn't realize how much stuff I'd passed over. For items I've reviewed there will be a link, for items I plan on reviewing, there will nothing but the name, and for things I don't think I will do a full review on I'll have a little description. On to the categories!

Bath and Body

Cake Desserted Island Supreme Body Mousse

Cake Desserted Island Supremely Rich Bat
h and Shower Froth (Double Bubble size)
Uremol 10 Hand an
d Body Lotion
Yves Rocher Jardins du Monde Brazilian Coffee Bean Shower Cream
This body wash has the most amazing coffee scent! It is a perfect morning scent and the formula is really moisturizing. This also comes in an orange juice type scent if you aren't a coffee fan.
Yves Rocher Organic Vanilla Body Exfoliant

Mascara

Maybelline XXL Pro 24 Hour Bold
Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion
Revlon Grow Luscious
100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lengthening (not shown)

Gadgets

Clarisonic Mia Facial Cleanser

Oral B Vitality

I got this tooth brsuh free from my dentist, and have never been more excited about brushing my teeth. I love this tooth brush! The ads for this all mention the "from the dentist clean" and it is so true. This tooth brush makes your teeth feel so clean. I love that it has a built in timer that lets you know when you have brushed long enough.

Concealers

Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer in Cream
Revlon Colour Stay Blemish Concealer in Light
Benefit Erase Paste in No. 2 Medium

Foundation

I tried quite a few foundations in 2010, and while I haven't found a true favourite just yet the following aren't too bad:
Revlon Colour Stay Foundation for Combination/ Oily Skin in Sand Beige
Rimmel Stay Matte + Skinpure Complex in Warm Ivory
Revlon Age Defying Makeup for Dry Skin in Bare Buff

Finishing

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater
Pure Natural Mineral Finishing Silk
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent

Perfumes

Yves Rocher Vanille Noire
Aquolina Pink Sugar
Yves Rocher Flower Party
Unlike what the name would suggest, Flower Party isn't really a floral perfume. The scent has a light fruity top note with a lightly sweet vanilla dry down. It claims to have rose notes, but I don't detect them. This is a perfect spring/summer scent.
Lancome Tresor (not shown)
Over the past few years I have had (and finished) many bottles of Tresor. My mom fist bought it for herself, but it soon became shared and eventually all mine. To me, the scent is indescribable, but it is described as being a "warm floral-oriental (that) has a very fine and elegant composition made of rose, heliotrope, orris, apricot and iris." -Fragrantica

Skin Care- Face

Mario Badescu Orange Tonic Mask
Spectro Derm Cleanser for Dry Skin
Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer
Pur Minerals Mineral
Mudd Masque
100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean
Caffeine Eye Cream
Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure Daily Exfoliating Gel Cleanser (not shown)

Eye Sh
adow

Annabelle Custom Quad filled with Ebony, Divine Diva, Indigo Glow, and Vanilla Chilla.
Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Victoria
n Lace, Minx, Tiki and Retro Peacock ELF Mineral Eye Shadow in Mysterious
Maybelline New York Eye Studio Q
uad in Give Me Gold

Primers

Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer
Isomers High Definition Primer

Hair Care

Got 2 B Styltini Double Shot 24 Hour Hair Thickener
I picked this up on a whim when it was on sale and am very happy I took a chance on it.I don't often blow dry my hair, but when I do this is a must. I apply a little dab and it makes my hair look thicker and feel softer.
Garnier Fructis Detangling Double Care Nourish + Shine Leave-in
Got 2 B Smooth Operator Smoothing Hairspray
Herbal Essences
Body Envy Weightless Volumizing Gel (not shown)
I am a pretty low maintenance type of girl when it comes to my hair, but I do use products to help keep it in check when it gets unruly. I use this gel, mainly for my bangs, as a way to keep them from being too fluffy or pointing up. I apply this on damp hair and set it with a bobby pin. After a few hours I remove the pin and brush. The gel disappears without a crunchy look and gives great hold.

Eye Liners

Mark No Place To Run Long Wear Eyeliners in Steely Gaze, Foxy Brown, Ultra Violet, and Grassroots

Annabelle Smudgeliner in Oh My Goth

Marcelle Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Very Black

Blush and Bronzers

Mark Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Prettied Up
Joe Fresh Blush in Nude (used for highlighting)
Skinn Colour Touch Eye Cheek and Lip Glow in Teen Tone
Joe Fresh blush in Plum

Lip Care

Lush Sweet Lips Lip Scrub

Blistex Lip Medex
This has to be at least my 20th tin. I have been using this since 8th grade and I will use it until they stop making (good god I hope they never do!) This comes in a tube too, but I don't like the tube version as much as the pot.
Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Treatment with SPF 15
This is very similar to Lip Medex, but a bit less intense. I love that it has SPF and minimal shine. I wear this under lipstick quite a lot.

Lipstick

I have only recently started to get "into" lipstick, but the ones that were most loved in 2010 were:
AvonUltra Moisture Rich Lipstick in Cherub
This is relatively old, and no longer available, but I love the colour. It is a pale pink with a slight nude undertone. I already have a MAC replacement lined up for when this used up.
Mark Lip Click in Sweetie Pie and Bare Hug
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy (not shown)

Lip Gloss

Vapour Organic Beauty Lip Gloss in Enigma
Mark Juice Gems Lip Gloss in Pomegranate
Avon Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss in Natural Glow
Joe Fresh Lip Gloss in Sheer Pink

Nail Polish

Joe Fresh Nail Polish in Fog
OPI Nail Polish in Jade is the New Black, Suzi Says Feng Shui, and Tickle My Francey
Avon Nail Experts Pearl Shine
This isn't your typical nail polish... it applies like one but dries in an instant and leaves your nails with a really subtle glowly sheen that is natural but better. Great for when you want a put together look but don't have a lot of time.
Essie To Dry For Top
Coat (not shown)
I originally just picked this up because I needed something and it was on sale. After one use it was love. I went back and got three more bottles. I have just started my second bottle and can't say enough great things about it. I makes your polish dry faster, last longer and it has a great shine.

Misc.

Sophi Hair Accessories
If you have long hair (or any hair at all really) or are like me you keep elastics, clips, headbands and bobby pins everywhere. I am super fussy about what I use, but I have come to love the Sophi brand. I get them at dollar stores (most in my area carry the brand) and have a ton of different items. I particularly like their thick metal free elastics, since they last a very long time before they stretch out or bust. They also have some really cute headbands. Best part, everything is about a $1.

Foot Care

Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Cream
Ped Egg
Luxuriant Cracked Heel Repair

Nail Care

Revlon Nail Files
I don't always file my nails, but when I go through a stage where I do I usually use a Revlon file. They are inexpensive ($1.99) and have the perfect amount of grit. They come in a ton of patterns too. I always have a few on hand.
Sally Hansen Miracle Cure
Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
I just replaced my old tin with a new one. The new one (pictured) was a few dollars cheaper than my last one and is a bigger tin. How great is that?

Wow, that took forever. Now I get to put everything away... fun! Did you have any of the same faves as I did? What was your fave product of the year?

  3. A good Uremol cream! This was the only thing that would get rid of my bad wrist rash I had 2 years ago! I found it at my parent's and to be honnest, until this Christmas, I thought it was discontinued! It is gross in a way, when you know what urea is though haha!

  4. I'm very into the whole "dramatic eye, glossy lip" look right now, so my favs from this year were the new Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush, and Rimmel lip glosses (non-sticky, long lasting. Love it!)
