Review: Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer

Yesterday I posted a review of Concrete Mineral's eyeshadow, and as promised. today I have the accompanying review of their Electric Eye Primer. When I placed my order for the eyeshadow I pondered whether or not I should pick up the primer too. I haven't had overwhelming success with any of the eye primers I have used thus far, and wasn't sure if I felt like trying another and not being happy with the results. I did a fast Google of it and was surprised to see reviews on Makeup Alley. Not only did it have a few reviews it has a solid 5 lipsticks out of 5. Not too shabby. And, if that wasn't enough proof to think it is was worth a try, it was also compared to Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP) which, I haven't used *gasp here* I am probably the only blogger who hasn't... Anyway I ordered one.

At $9.99 I felt pretty safe that if I didn't like it, it wasn't the end of the world, but with a comparison to a majorly popular primer I suspected maybe it would be worth it. It so was! I absolutely love this primer!! I have tested this numerous times, and now it is an everyday must have in my routine, and I have yet to be disappointed. But being the ultimate skeptic, I had to preform the ultimate test: would it survive overnight. To prepare I did my whole cleansing routine then prepped my eyes with primer and applied a basic two colour look with two different brands of eyeshadow on each eye, just to see if it made any difference. Then I headed off to bed. In the morning I was very surprised, yet totally pleased to see that my eyeshadow looked exactly the same as it had before I went to bed. I had taken pictures, but like an oaf I accidentally deleted them off of my camera before I uploaded them. Smart. You'll just have to take my word for it.

I love that this primer works so well! It has allowed me to start finishing up eyeshadows that I have in my collection that have great colour but don't wear so well since it makes eyeshadow stay put so well. I have yet to have any sort of creasing or shifting at all. This primer makes colours apply more vibrantly and stay bright and defined. The primer itself is sort of moussey in consistency. It feels very similar to mousse type foundations and comes packaged in a little screw top tin. The tin looks small but you get .35 ounces of product which will last for quite some time. Comparatively, the original size UDPP tube is .34 ounces at $18.99. The primer is a pale skin tone with very subtle golden shimmer. I tried to get a photo of it on my hand, but it is too fine to see. On the eye the primer has just enough colour to even out my eyelid, but I have fairly pale skin. Eyeshadow applies easily over the primer and blends well with no sticky feel or tugging.

Overall I am very very pleased with this product, and will most definitely re-purchase. Have you used this primer? What did you think?
