February Faves

I didn't buy much in February, really I didn't. I shopped my stash a bit more, and actually now that I think of it, I forgot a fave. Don't you just love when you start using something you've had forever but never liked and realized how perfect it actually is? It's almost as fun as buying something new. Almost...

1) Proactiv Daily Oil Control
I should probably do a full review of this (I am so good at saying that and then never reviewing it) because I do have a fair bit to say; so I'll make this short. I'm not super oily, in fact I tend to have dry skin, but I have been using this and quite like it. Full review soon.

2)Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer
I don't know if I'm alone with this, but is anybody else overrun with samples? I keep little organizer buckets in with my makeup storage for the different types. I have the bad habit of getting really nice deluxe samples and then never using them. This product is a very large deluxe sample that I got from the Shopping Channel in one of their mixed bag deals, and I am so happy with it. I tend to have dry skin and need a moisturizer before I start with any makeup (I even moisturize before my primer) and I had forgotten to moisturize after my am cleanse, so I rooted around and came up with this little guy. The moisturizer is super creamy, medium thickness and light feeling on. It absorbs quite fast and moisturizes really well. The only thing I'm not super fond of is the slight rosey scent that it has. I'm not a fan of rose scented anything.

3) Revlon ColourBurst Lipstick in Lilac #001
I fave quickly began amassing these lipsticks. I tend to be a non lipstick person, but these are just so smooth and wear so well I am hooked. I have cool colouring and have been looking for a more wearable purple lipstick and this is just perfect. I'm going to do a comparison post of this and mauve just to show the difference.

4)Nicole by OPI Vitamin Plus Nail Treatment
I have pretty strong nails, but every so often if I wear nail polish steady (like one colour off, new colour on repeat for a few weeks) my nails get a bit damaged and start to peel. I've found that a few days of a polish break and a good treatment I am back to strong and healthy in no time. This has been my current fave. I picked this up in the clearance bin at Shopper's for $2.99 as opposed to $8.99, but if I had known how much I would have liked it I would have paid full price long ago. The treatment dries super fast and leaves a shiny polished look to your nails.

5)Bonne Bell Strawberry Glossify Lip Gloss
My first "product" was Bonne Bell/ Smackers so they will always hold a place in my heart, so when I saw this for a $1 at the dollar store I had to grab it. I didn't have high hopes for it, but it turned out to be really great. It is a firm jelly type gloss that applies clear. It has the most drool inducing strawberry scent... like the freshest, sweetest berries, but better. It has a little bit of tack, so it has some lasting power and it even moisturizes. I like to wear it with lipstick for some added shine.

6)Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural
These things are on pretty much every blog, so I doubt I need to go into great detail... Although I was totally a sucker and drawn in by the cute factor of these I wasn't going to get one because of the price. They were $16.99 at Shopper's and I saw them at least four times before I caved. I got it as my Valentine gift to myself and because they had $6 rebates on them, so $10.99 isn't terrible for a blush. I always say I am not a floral scent type of gal, and this product has a floral scent, but it's violets and it turns out I love the scent of violets. Go figure. This has a light scent, but it is very nice and indeed uplifting. If anyone is interested in a full review let me know.

And lastly, not a product, but a person, my best-est friend Kyley for surprising my by sending me Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. I keep saying I wanted to read it before the movie is out and everyone is talking about, but I hate spending so much money on books (why are the soooo expensive?) I am super excited to read it. One of my favourite books of all time is Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale, so I am always looking for something along that genre/ style and she gave this book praise, so it should be good!

What were your faves?

  2. I think I am the only one that didn't buy that PF blush, just too much in my opinion, but it looks really nice. I am craving that Stila blush with the hearts on it.

  3. Hey Bailey!

    Are you going to watch the Never let me Go movie, with Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan? Every mag is talking about it now!

  4. I had two favorites for this month and they are both shades of purple! The first being a Finger paints nail polish in "passionate purple" and the second being a Revlon lipstick in 001 Lilac, i have to admit that i didn't even know the lipstick was a lilac shade until i got home and read the bottom sticker and it said lilac. The color on top looks more pink! but i tried it anyway and LOVE it.

    I Know! I so wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for all the cute.

    @Justine
    I know, I usually don't by any PF products, but it had a rebate on it, so $10 isn't too bad.

    @Ms Bubu
    Yeah, I'd love to see it! I want to read the book first though. I prefer to read it first, the book tends to be better too.

    @Mysweetie924
    It's such a great shade isn't it! I love it, and it's so much more wearable than others.
