April Faves

So yeah, this post is late, but whatever. I like reading everyone's monthly favourites so I had to throw mine out there too. April brought me a lot of new products and changes to my routine -I lost about a foot of hair! No, not actually lost, but I did get a drastic new hair cut. Oddly enough my new fave hair products are not featured in this post (Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo and Mousse, it smells so good!)

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Hand and Body Lotion
I had wanted to try the Warm Vanilla line for so long, so I was super excited when my bff gifted me the lotion and hand soap. The scent is vanilla perfection! I can't get enough of it, and the lotion is really moisturizing. I will for sure be adding other items from the collection to my arsenal.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
I had been toying with the idea of getting a more expensive moisturizer, until I found Cetaphil samples in my sample bin. I almost tossed them because I couldn't remember where or when I got them, but I am so glad that I tired it anyway. I absolutely love this moisturizer! You can use it on any part of your body, but I use it for my face and find it has made amazing changes. My dry skin finally feels normal and, well amazing. Simply put, I love it.

Neutrogena Oil Free Makeup Remover
This is actually one that I forgot to add to last month's faves, but I still love it. I had been looking for this for so long after reading how great it was for eye makeup and especially waterproof formulas. That was my main reason why I was looking for a new remover. This product works so well! It gets everything off and since it is oil free it does not irritate or leave any sort of film. I will be sticking with this stuff.

MAC Giggly Mineralize Blush
I had decided not to get anything from the Quite Cute collection, but when I was making an order for other "necessities" I ended up getting this too. I had heard not so great reviews on these, but just look at that little heart, it is just too cute. I ended up being pretty happy with the look of the blush (a pinky plum shade) that was very pretty and easy to use.

SJP NYC Perfume
This was a total impulse buy, and like Giggly, I had read not so great reviews. I had been in to a different store to stock up on Pink Sugar but they stopped carrying it! I was slightly devastated, but I hopped into Shopper's and ended up leaving with this. This is a fruity floral with strong strawberry notes and a touch of my beloved vanilla. I can't say it would be a repurchase for me, but it is a nice change and is a fun spring scent. The bottle is gawd awuful though...

Covergirl Clean Foundation for Normal Skin.
I should start by saying I hate the scent of this foundation. It has the most terrible, old lady perfume scent. That being said, I kind of knew what I was getting into because I knew I didn't like the scent Cover Girl uses, but I thought that Clean would indicate a new fresher Cover Girl. Wrong. Anyway, after letting this foundation just sit in my collection I thought I'd at least try to use it up. I was surprised by how much I ended up liking it. It is a bit heavier than I would like, but on weeks when my face is acting up (like the past few) it can be nice to have something a bit weighty just in case. I also like to use a very small amount a blend it on while my moisturizer is still damp for a lighter cover.

Essie Topless and Barefoot
There was a lot of hype around this shade in the blogosphere, but I was only tempted to try it when I spotted this (and Sand Tropez and Nice is Nice) sitting my my beloved clearance bin at my local Shopper's Drug Mart. Essie polish for $2.99 each? Yes Please! I ended up totally loving the shade. It is a nude with a touch of pink. So pretty. Swatches to come soon.

Cover Girl Liquline Eyeliner in Violet Voltage
All of the Cover Girl stuff is on clearance at one of my local drugstores, so I picked up a Liquline liner. I usually go for very basic eyeliner shades (black, brown, brown, brown... I have a lot of brown) but I do like how purples make my eyes pop so I went with something a bit different. I really love the quality of these. They are very similar to Annabelle's Smudgelingers and have great pigmentation. Ive been switching this one in place of my brown liner when I do brown based shadow looks and it looks great.

Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer
I've had this for a while and and used it, but only recently it has been pretty much the only one I've used. I had some breakout issues and this concealer totally did the trick at covering up my problem areas. It is a thinner formula, so I let it sit for a bit then blend it out. The colour match couldn't be more perfect which is a main reason why I love it, but it also covers well. However, it isn't quite as great for under eye coverage.
Liplicious Tasty Lip Color Cup Cakes in Cookies ‘N’ Cream
I was gifted this (along with a few other tasty flavours) and love the scent/taste! I haven't had a lip gloss with such a deslish smell and taste in ages. This smells and tastes exactly the same as an Oreo. Not just chocolaty, but that cream filled cookie uniqueness. I think that these were limited edition from Bath and Body works and may not be available any longer, but if they are get one (or two!) They do have some shimmer, but it is not as scary looking as it does in the tube. This one is particular is a sheer nude shade that wears well and is surprisingly long lasting and not too sticky.

What were your faves last month?
