Swatches: Mark. Nailed It Trend Mini Nail Laquers

click for full size

A while ago Mark. introduced their mini nail polishes last spring (see my review here) they have since put out a summer set (which I did buy, but never got to reviewing... bad blogger) and a fall set- the set I'm featuring in this post. The winter set should be out soon as well. I'll be receiving my winter set tomorrow, since I had a chance to buy early because I sell.

I said this in my initial review, but it's worth stating again; While I like the concept of two mini polishes (honestly, have you ever finished a bottle of nail polish?) they are really mini for a not so mini price -$8. I've seen some state that the sets are like paying for one regular bottle but getting two minis. Nope. They are even smaller than that. At 2.7ml each bottle you're getting about 5ml total (I'm rounding off) while the average full size bottle of polish is 12-15ml. Humm...

Steel Plum

Industrial

Aside from the price vs size drama, the colours are spot on for fall. Steel Plum is a grayed out plum (it is a bit plummier in real life than in my photo, it was being fussy) with a cream finish. I really liked the colour, and while I don't have anything like it my collection I do think you could easily dupe it. The second shade, Industrial is a pretty basic cool gray cream. Again ( I am repeating a lot today, aren't I?) I don't have a gray that is this shade, I have lighter and darker, but this could be duped.

On my ring finger, as an accent, I thought that I would test out a polish I recently picked up. Nicole by OPI's Make a Comet- Ment a holographic glitter. I was draw to it because I liked how fine the holographic glitter was and the fact that it could wake up any colour polish.

Bottle macro

Blurred bottle macro... so glitzy!

I loved that it was only one coat to get a really great glittery cover. The new brush on the Nicole's pick up a huge amount of polish, so you do have to be a bit careful or you can very easily flood your nail. I also added a little heart rhinestone for some extra pizazz. They are from Born Pretty, but I'll have a better review of them shortly.

What do you think of mini polishes? Are they worth it?

  2. I love the mark bottles but not the price for the amount. The colors are gorgeous though, love your accent manis. I wish I painted my nails as neatly as you. :)

    Thanks :D

    @Kalmo
    I totally agree and thank you! I'm not always the neatest, but a little brush and some pure acetone can clean up even the worst paint job!
