November Faves 2011

It's cliche, but HOLY CRAP, WHERE DID THE YEAR GO? I guess I'm getting old, but it seems like the past year (as terrible as it happened to be) flew by. Anyhow, the past month didn't see me using too many new products considering how many I purchased. I just wasn't that creative with my look, I suppose.

Mark Self Sanctuary Lemon Sugar Body Butter
Smells so good! I'm not a fan of lemon scents (or so I thought) but this has the freshest, sweet lemony scent that you can't help but love. This is called a butter, but the texture is lighter and more like a thick lotion. It absorbs quickly and leaves skin quite moisturized. I love how strong the scent is, it sticks around for quite a while.

Avene Thermal Spring Water
While I love a good facial mist, I wasn't quite sure why I would want just water in a can. Well, this is magical water. Not really, but the thermal water does have healing properties and does wonders on dry skin. I like to use this before bb cream, after cleansing, and after using Avene Soothing Moisture Mask.

The Body Shop Fuzzy Peach Shower Gel
Ever since I was a kid, I've loved fuzzy peaches. All peach flavoured and delicious and such. If you take all the tastiness that is a fuzzy peach and bottle it, you'd have this shower gel. I've been meaning to included it in a faves post for months, be kept forgetting it. I may switch it up from time to time, but I always have a back up bottle of this on hand.

Laura Mercier Rose Rendezvous Face Illuminator
Full review here. One of my initial reasons for almost not purchasing this was the fact that I tend not to use a highlight that often. That has totally changed thanks to this beauty. I love how easy this is to use; a fast swipe and you have the perfect amount of rose gold sheen. Very, very happy with this.

YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils Mascara
BUY. THIS. If you haven't tried it you must. I'm using a sample size tube, and if I didn't already have at least 10 open mascaras and a minimum of 5 more still in the package to try, I would already have bought a full size tube. This mascara gives me massive lashes with such little effort. HG status? I think so.

Benefit Creasless Cream Eyeshadow in R.S.V.P
I've faved this numerous times, but I keep going back to it. I switch between my Rubenesque paint pot (a more peachy shimmer) and this (a more champagne based shimmer) for a simple, fresh look. I use the cream shadow, a little black eyeliner and my best mascara. It really gives you a well rested, pretty look. Simple, yet effective.

MAC Sheer Cover-Up Concealer
A pretty big beauty revelation developed for me this month: I'm a W not a C *oooh, ahhh* This is my fist NW product and I love it. I still have some NC foundation left that is an okay match, so I'll finish it off, bu NW is a fan-fricken'-tastic match. This is concealer is actually a shade lighter (it's NW15) than I normally use (I'm a NW20) but it blends in and covers awesomely regardless. The tube looks so small, but since you only need a tiny dot, it is going to last for ages.

Smashbox Limitless Longwear Lipgloss in 24/7
This is a gloss from the Smashbox Softbox Collection (review here.) It's a sheer blue based raspberry shade that is perfect for fall/winter. It has a sort of jelly/squishy look to it that is oddly very nice. Even better, it is barely sticky, yet it does last for a good while.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Fair to Light
I bought this on a whim a few month ago (it was on sale) but I tucked it away and hadn't used it. My skin and I have had a good relationship the past while, so I decided it would be a good time to try this out. The coverage is light, but good for evening out skin tone and blurring imperfections. I still use a concealer with this for a bit more cover. It moisturizes pretty well (I've had tinted moisturizers that seemed like they took it away) and I like that it is SPF 30. If you look really closely, the product has a hint of shimmer, but it is so fine it just makes your skin look glowy and natural. Exactly what you want.

What were your faves last month?

P.S click on images for the best results, Blogger and my photos are not getting along and uploading to Photobucket doesn't seem to fix much either.

  3. Great faves! I love Smashbox Lip Glosses too-they don't get enough love. The Aveeno TM is great too if you don't need a lot of coverage. I like Aveeno products a lot lately!
