Swatched: Revlon Zealous

This is an odd colour... I've been through a spectrum of feelings in regards to it. When I first saw it I thought it was kind of lemony and limey, a more subdued take on the neon trend. Then I got it home and it looked a bit too... just too somehow. Then it was on my nails and it seemed just plain wrong. I'm still not too sure what to think of it.

As you can see, the shade changes in differing lights. The brighter the lighting the more yellow it looks, while in lower, dull light you get the lime tones. Zealous also has a glass like shimmer that catches the light and provides a lit from within glow. The formula of this is super thin. I was impatient and loaded it on in three thick coats (which I don't recommend) as it did bubble a bit. These are my second set of photos with this polish and I was not impressed that I had to do it again. I don't know if it was me, the camera, or the polish, but between blurry photos and lighting issues I had a hard time with this one.

What do you think of this shade? I honestly doubt I'll ever wear it. What was I thinking?

  1. The shimmer is pretty, but that color...I hate yellow as is, but...wow...yuck.

    1. Lol! I'm not a huge yellow fan either. This is defiantly a love it or hate it type colour!

  2. The color is okay, but I don't love it. Revlon makes some weird color choices for their polish, don't they? :D

    1. I don't love it either! Yeah, they've put out quite a few new ones that are a bit... different (some good, some not quite!)
