Review: L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara

First off, please excuse my photos... the reflective gold tube is a pain to deal with and it turns out my camera doesn't function so well on low batteries (go figure...) I ended up with a whole batch of photos that came out a bit too dark. Boo! Anyhow, I love mascara (who doesn't?) and am always trying something new. I never really need to pick up any new ones, as I have a drawer full of new ones just waiting for some attention, but this one was on sale, and it's so shiny.... I couldn't help myself.

L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes is (and this might be a shocker, brace yourselves) one of the many new fiber filled mascaras. The gist is that the fibers grab onto your lashes and make them look ridiculously long and amazing. Huh... as you can see in the brush, the little fibers are visible, but they blend seamlessly onto lashes. The brush itself, is your typical wire type, but it is quite long, and slightly tapered.

The verdict? I quite like it. So much so that I already have a back up tube. I find that it lengthens really well, volumizes nicely, holds a curl, doesn't clump and stays put. And, it removes super easily. For me is checks all the boxes. Even in the extreme heat we've had lately, my mascara has stayed put (no flaking, smudging, or general bad behaviour.)

Does it look like I have false lashes on though? No. Not at all, it looks like I have mascara on. Do companies really think the women buying these "false lash" mascaras think they are actually going to look like a set of falsies? We all know it won't. Overall though, I am a fan. I've yet to try any of the other Voluminous varieties, but, based on the performance of this one, I would totally be up to them. Have you tried this mascara? What did you think?

  1. I use the basic Voluminous as my go-to for everyday mascara. I would love to see if this is even better!
