Swatched: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Crinoline and Anemone of Mine

Lately, I haven't been into polish all that much. I haven't loved any of the new collections to go haul crazy, but in the past couple days I have cherry picked a few from here and there. BUT, as is the trend, I have two oldies that I thought I'd share first. I picked this up at Wal-Mart just before Christmas, swatched them, and then did nothing with the photos. I had wanted to do a bit of comparing but never got around to it. I didn't see these shades pop up on any blogs, so I did a bit of Googling to discover they are from the Fall 2011 collection. Let's take a look...

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Crinoline

Crinoline is a soft pink tinged creamy white. It has a slight dustiness to it, making it more wearable than a true white. The formula is thin but not problematic, the photos above are three coats, but a fourth would have perfected the little bit of drag that shows on a couple of nails.

I never intentionally purchase dupes, especially when it comes to nail polish. I tend to avoid shades that are really similar as well, so this was a complete lapse on my part. Orly Pure Porcelain is quite close to Crinoline, but it is more pink toned and a bit dustier. The Orly formula is thicker as well, and you can get by on only 2-3 coats. Both shades are much more similar looking on my nails, so I'd say if you have one, you really don't need the other.

Anemone of Mine is a red based purple cream. In person, the shade is more red than the swatches read. It is an interesting shade, almost like a plum fuchsia hybrid or a beet type colour, but with more purple than red. The formula was perfect, two coats to opacity and tons of shine.

The beet like shade made me think of a particular polish in my stash, Joe Fresh Beet. As you can see Beet is just that, a true beet red. I don't have any purples that compare to Anemone of Mine. I love when a shade looks rather ordinary, but ends up surprising you.

Although these originally came out last fall, it's likely you can still find them with the Complete Salon Manicure selections. Sally Hansen has really upped their game with the CSM range. The colours are great with a formula to match, and at $8-9 not too hard on the wallet. Have you tried these shades? Which shade is your fave from the CSM lineup?
