Perfect Couple: Soulstice Harbour Island and OPI Tickle My France-y

Sometimes two polishes go together so well; they're just meant to be. Today's Perfect Couple is made up of an old favourite of mine, OPI Tickle My France-y and a new, soon to be favourite Soulstice Harbour Island.

Soulstice is a relatively new brand to me (Troy reviewed here) but when the chance to try a free bottle came around, I was happy to oblige. Every so often, Nail Polish Canada has special offers for customers, and this one was too good to pass up. I know I've sang their praises before, but Nail Polish Canada is my first choice nail e-tailer. Canadian ladies, check them out for your nail polish needs (no expensive shipping, in fact spend more than $25 and it's free!)

Harbour Island is described as 'pink sands- a sugary pastel' but it is also a sheer. As you can see above you are never going to get this shade opaque, but that's not a terrible thing as it has a ton of shimmering 'sugar' that it is going to make a pretty fantastic polish for layering. That said, I didn't realize it was a sheer when I ordered it. I was a bit bummed that it wasn't a shimmering nude, but I perked up when I realized how easily I could recreate the colour the bottle colour.

Tickle My France-y is a light nude, that reminds me of a milky coffee. It is a bit thin, so I used two coats. I topped it with one coat of Harbour Island voila! I really love a nude, but I've realized I really love a shimmering/glittery nude.

While Harbour Island does look great over a nude, it has so little base colour that it will work on any polish. I think it would look pretty great over pale shades for sugary look, or over dark shades to give them a bit of an added pop. Have you tried Soulstice polish? Which shade?

Availability: Nail Polish Canada or direct from Soulstice, $8.50
