The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser

I've said it before, and I'll say it again (and again and again...) "I think there are basically two kinds of people: those who hate their pores and those lucky enough to never have to think about their pores. I happen to fall into the first group. I have large pores and put the effort into my skincare routine to try and keep them managed. Of course a little cosmetic help is never turned down either, which is why I decided I had to try..." In this case The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser- or Minimizer depending which side of the pond you happen to reside on.

Yes, I full on quoted myself from this post. Yes, I had to Google myself because I couldn't remember which post that was from. And, yes, I'm really loving this product! Let's take a look...

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser - Ingredients

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser

"Our new Tea Tree Pore Minimiser makes pores look smaller. Infused with Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil, it smoothes, primes and mattifies, and leaves skin feeling fresh and pure. Minimises the appearance of pores Matifies for a shine-free finish Leaves skin feeling fresh and pure Ideal base for make-up"  - The Body Shop

I must admit that until this little gem of a product caught my eye, I'd never used anything from The Body Shop's Tea Tree range  - I also purchased the Blemish Fade Night Lotion (and got the Blackhead Exfoliating Wash free) but I have yet to try either yet.

First off, yes, this does have that signature tea tree scent. I don't love it, but it does let you know there is actually tea tree oil in the product. I ordered this as soon as it was available online and didn't read the size, so I was a bit surprised at how small the tube is- 30ml, the same size as your average foundation. The tube does have a little squeeze nozzle, which makes it easy to get the perfect amount dispensed.

This product acts as a primer, making claims to minimize the appearance of  pores, mattify skin, leave skin soft, and be a great base for makeup. I can't say if it mattifies, as oily skin is rarely ever an issue for me, but I can say it does check the other boxes quite well. I apply this after my moisturizer, and allow it to set for a moment. It goes on a yellowish green gel, but dries to an almost powder finish, not exactly, but it does feel soft and light on your skin.

I found that it did fill in my pores and allow my foundation to flow over my problem areas (mainly my nose) with ease. I use this on my whole face, as it is great as a general primer- it smooths skin and allows for fuss free foundation application. I've been really happy with this product, but (yes, a but) I find it doesn't last all day. By the about the 6th hour, I can start to see my foundation slipping into pores in my problem areas (again, mainly my nose.) It's a small quibble, but worth mentioning.

Overall, I'll likely repurchase this again, it's one of the rare pore perfecting products that really does work. Have you tried this? What did you think? What's your go to primer?

Availability: The Body Shop, 30ml, $18 CAD

  1. Hey, thanks for the helpful review, I have a question though.. Can you wear this on top of your makeup for touch ups?

    1. You're welcome!

I wouldn't touch up with this as it works as more of a base. I'd touch up as usual with a bit of powder.

    2. Oh okay thanks, does it make your pores look smaller instantly while wearing the product?xx

  2. hi!! I have a question, can we apply this after we use night cream? (tea tree series also). Thank you :)

  3. The worst part of it was that the software only worked intermittently and the data was not accurate. You obviously canot confront anyone about what you have discovered if the information is not right. הדפסה על כוס קפה

  4. Impressive work on the writer’s part.
