China Glaze Swing Baby

I kind of stalk nail polish collections. I tend to know what collections are coming out when and I usually know ahead of time which shades need to be mine. Of course, from time to time a polish or two slips by. China Glaze Swing Baby is one of those polishes.

Swing Baby is a blend of metallic taupe and champagne with a foil finish. It is really better viewed in person, but it is pretty gorgeous. It was originally introduced in 2010 as part of the Vintage Vixen collection. The formula is on the thinner side, so I ended up using three coats.

After wearing CG Swing Baby, I couldn't help but think of another polish that I absolutely love: OPI Designer...de Better!  On the nail it is tricky to see because both polishes are so reflective, but they are both different. Swing Baby is made up of very fine particles and is darker, more taupe toned.  DDB has more of a silver base with copper flecks in it. It is lighter overall. Honestly though, you really don't need both polishes as once on the nail they do have similar looks overall. Both are totally appropriate for the holiday season and are a simple way to inject a bit of festive flare in your look. Which polish do you prefer? What's your go to shade for the holidays?
