Recent Favourites I

Some months ago, I decided to abandon 'monthly favourites' posts. A month just passes too fast, and I often found it was stressful trying to pin point what I wanted to showcase. Also, I usually hadn't reviewed everything on it's own yet, and then I'd blab away too much in a favourites post. You know?

So, from now on, I'll post my 'recent favourites' whenever the mood strikes. Like now. Let's take a look!

1. Yves Rocher Perfect Primer in 01 Rose, 2. MeMeMe Beat the Blues Moonbeam Highlighter, 3. Laura Mercier Rose Rondezvous Face Illuminator

Yves Rocher Perfect Primerin in 01 Rose

As a primer, this is an okay product, but I really never loved it enough to make it something I use all the time, until recently I got the bright idea to mix it with my foundation. The primer itself is a very pale pink shade, it doesn't give my face any colour, but I couldn't help but wonder if it could lighten a foundation. My MAC Pro Longwear Foundation is a bit too dark/yellowon its own, but with a few pumps of primer it is a much more useable shade, and it applies so much easier.

MeMeMe Beat the Blues Moonbeam Highlighter (review)

I've been using this cream highlighter on the days I wear a lighter coverage product (like BB cream, or tinted moisturizer) and simply mix a dab of this into it. On lazy days when I only use a moisturizer and a bit of concealer, I even use a touch of this in my moisturizer. It gives such a natural glow to skin when mixed with another product, it's perfect!

The golden rose shade of this makes it an all season product, but I tend to gravitate towards it more in the cooler autumn months. Sadly, this is no longer available, but it is a gorgeous highlighter.

4. Maybelline Volum' Express Mega Plush Mascara, 5. Cargo Classic Lip Gloss in Dusseldorf, 6. Stila Convertible Colour Lip and Cheek Cream in Lillium, 7. The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser

Maybelline Volum' Express Mega Plush Mascara

I didn't love this mascara the first few times I used it, but it has really grown on me since. It has a massive brush, on a handle with a mechanism that lets it wiggle around when you apply it. I've found that I can get pretty decent volume and length, but I have to work quickly to avoid clumped together lashes.

Cargo Classic Lip Gloss in Dusseldorf

I've admitted to being a bit gun shy when it comes to really bold lips, and we all know deep vampy plums are very 'in' right now. I just am not comfortable rocking that look, but I do enjoy a plummy lip gloss. Dusseldorf (along with being fun to say, say it d-u-s-s-e-l-d-o-r-f) is a shimmering plummy pink. I really love the formula of this gloss, as it isn't sticky yet is relatively long lasting.

Stila Convertible Colour Lip and Cheek Colour in Lillium

I've mentioned this quite a bit lately, but I have been using it quite a bit, so it evens out. I'm determined to finish this before it's no good. So far so good, I hit pan, but still have a ways to go. It doesn't help that so little goes so far!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser (review)

I don't care much for the tea tree scent, but this is one great primer for those of us with prominent pores. It's pretty amazing to find a pore product that actually does what it claims to do, and this one delivers.

8. MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation, 9. BAILEY Fresh Lip Gloss in Berry, 10. Avon Mega Impact Eyeliner in Golden Fawn, 11. Lancome Blush Subtil in Miel Glace

MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation

I bought this a while ago, but didn't start using it much until recently. I love that the formula gives decent coverage without feeling too heavy. This foundation happened to be my first NW shade, and it is such a better match for me than any NC product I've used in the past.

BAILEY Fresh Lip Gloss in Berry

This gloss has a fantastic formulation that is both long wearing and no even the slightest bit sticky. The shade is a deep plum, but it applies in a sheer wash, making it the perfect fall shade for bold lip phobics. I'd say that best part, is the fact that this happens to be boldly emblazoned with my name on the tube. As a child of the late 80's, early 90's there was never anything with my name on it (ever), and as a result, still get a little giddy when my name is on anything.

Avon Mega Impact Eyeliner in Golden Fawn (review)

If you read my review, you'll already know how I feel about this liner. It's absolutely fantastic! I've been using this pretty much everyday, and can't seem to get enough of the shimmering golden-taupe hue.

Lancome Blush Subtil in Miel Glace (review)

I've mentioned this blush quite a few times, but it happens to be one of my favourites, so I don't feel too bad about it. It is such a perfect neutral shade that makes it universally flattering. A perfect shade for autumn/winter as well.
