Avon Eyeshadow Primer

I remember the day I first used Urban Decay Primer Potion. It was magical. I vowed that from that day forward, I would be a loyal UDPP user. Fast forward a few years, and I still am, but a few months ago, it seemed like my little buddy wasn't working quite as well as it always had. I had a sit down with it, had a little talk with it, and decided we needed a break. It's not me, it's him. I just need some to time to see what else is out there. You know?

It may seem harsh, but it had to be done. One of the new primers I've been seeing experimenting with has been Avon's Eyeshadow Primer. I figured since I had such good luck with their cream shadow formula, there was a good chance this primer could deliver.

Avon Eyeshadow Primer- Light Beige 3.5g $7.99

'Lightweight primer creates a seamless canvas for a smooth, even finish'- Avon

This primer is housed in the same little glass pot as the Avon cream shadows. I don't mind the pot as I can easily dip a clean brush into it, but I know some have issues with products stored in pots. Getting past that though, the primer itself is an interesting texture, it's almost like a whipped consistency and has a very light, creamy feel. When you apply it, it feels much like a cream to powder formula, but it doesn't actually transform into a powder. It makes skin feel super smooth and silky, and the shade- a neutral toned nude, gives eyes a fresh look as it conceals and evens skin tone. This primer is available in two shades- light beige, which would work for pretty much any skin tone from fair to medium-deep, as it sheers out to more of just a tint and warm beige for deeper skin tones, or for use under dark shadows.

So, does it work? Yes! I am pleased to say that this primer kept my shadows in place and looking great all day! I really was a bit hesitant as to whether this would work, so I am really pleased at how well it performs. I've used this on it's own to even out and perfect the look of my lids, under cream shadows, and under powder shadows and have had excellent results every time.

Overall, this is a great primer option. Look for it on sale, as I got my pot for $4.99! Have you tried this primer? What's your go-to primer?
