Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I collect concealer the way most women collect shoes. It's true, I defiantly have more concealers stashed away than shoes in my closet... but anyway. Concealer is a staple item in any beauty bag. It covers the questionable bits you don't really want the world to see.

If you read a lot of blogs, you've likely heard of the Collection brand (formerly Collection 2000) and their incredibly popular Lasting Perfection concealer. I ebayed a tube months ago and saved it for a rainy snowy day. I've been testing it out for a few weeks and decided it's time to share. At least before any more of the label wears off... asting Plrfection, huh. Read on for all the details!

I LOVE this concealer! There, that's out of the way. I've always found that you can never judge a concealer based on it's price point and this one proves that. I've used cheaper concealers and I've used I-can't-believe-I-just-paid-that-much-for-concealer concealers and find that you really can't be sure what will work for you until you use it. I find that a lot of concealers crease when used under my eyes. Even when I take the time to prep well and powder the area, I rarely get more than a handful of hours before entering creaseville. Not with this one! While I can't attest to the 16 hour claims, this does last the whole day and stays where you applied it.

I have the shade light, which is a great match for my face, but would be a touch dark for under my eyes if I were to listen to an expert. 'They' say to use a concealer a shade lighter than your skin tone for the under eye area, but I like one the same shade as my skin tone because I find I get better coverage overall, and I usually use a brightening product on top anyway. Anyway, the coverage from this is pretty great, and the smallest amount gets the job done. As you can see in the photos above, one little blob spreads out to cover a huge area. I like to dab it on (it's housed like a lip gloss with a sponge tip applicator btw), and then blend it in with my Sigma P86 Priscison Tapered brush (review) for perfect coverage. If I have particularly dark circles, I just add a second layer, but I find I rarely need to.

Overall, this is an excellent concealer. I ordered mine from a seller on eBay, who looks like they are no longer active, but a quick Google search will lead to you a variety of sources if you're an international buyer. Have you tired this concealer? What's your current favourite?
