Last week I reviewed a few of Maybelline's Colour Whispers (here), and today I've got two more fabulous shades to chat about.
Let's not waste much time, and get on with it, shall we?
Maybelline Colour Whisper Lip Colour- Pin Up Peach* and Made-it Mauve* $7.49 USD/ $9.99 CAD
'Pure color pigments suspended in a weightless gel. No heavy waxes or oils. Soft, sexy gel-color.' - Maybelline
As I said in my initial review (to read my full review and formula overview, see the original post here.) these have a great texture and wear super easily. When the Revlon Lip Butters were introduced, I seriously o.d-ed on them, I thought that they were all kinds of amazing, but I have to say, I think I like the Colour Whisper formula better. It feels lighter on, feels more moisturizing and seems to just wear a bit nicer. I still adore my lip butters, but they defiantly have some competition with these.
Maybelline Colour Whisper Lip Colour- Pin Up Peach* and Made-it Mauve*
Maybelline Colour Whisper Lip Colour- Pin Up Peach*
Pin Up Peach is a pink tinged peach with the lightest smattering of shimmer. This shade is much more pigmented than I expected, and as you can see, almost completely covers the scar on my lip. I couldn't help but think of my favourite Revlon Lip Butter shade when swatching this, Peach Parfait.
Maybelline Colour Whisper Lip Colour- Pin Up Peach* vs. Revlon Lip Butter- Peach Parfait
As you can see, there are some similarities, but Revlon's Peach Parfait is a darker, peachier shade, and has much more evident shimmer- golden in this case. As much as I love Peach Parfait, it does feel heavier on my lips than Pin Up Peach, and the shimmer does give it a slight grittiness when it begins to wear away.
Maybelline Colour Whisper Lip Colour- Made-it Mauve*
Made-it Mauve is a 'my lips but better' type of rosey-mauve. I love this shade! It's got a great amount of shine and is just plain pretty. This is the type of shade everyone and anyone can wear. Love it!
Overall, I am a total fan of these. Have you tried them? What do you think?
