It's that time again! I went to toss another empty into my empties bag the other day, and it bounced itself right back out... huh, time to post and toss I guess. I never feel like I've managed to finish much until I see everything all together like this. It's mostly everyday type products, okay, mostly skincare, and no makeup... I never seem to finish anything because I have too many options. It's so hard to stick with one thing long enough, you know?
Yves Rocher Apple Delight Shower Gel, Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo, Bioderma Ceraline H20 Micellar, and Curel Foot Therapy*
The Yves Rocher Apple Delight Shower Gel (review) ended up doing double duty as both shower gel and hand soap. I had the idea to water it down and use it in a Bath and Body Works foaming soap dispenser. I was curious to see if it was the formula of the B&BW soap or the pump that made the foam. It's the pump.
I was really interested in trying the Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo, but there are some major flaws with the packaging. I used the can twice, and on the third use nothing would come out. The can feels like there is still product in it, but it sure as hell won't come out. Fail. What I did get to use wasn't bad though!
Bioderma Ceraline H20 Micellear is something that everyone loves because it works. I am so happy that I can buy it locally now. If you haven't tried this, get a bottle! Now. It's that good.
I am always slathering some sort of moisturizer on my feet, so I was happy to see a tube of Curel Foot Therapy* in one of my Glossy Boxes. Most of the best foot creams are on the thick, greasy side, but Curel's formula is not only fast absorbing but it isn't greasy. A very fine foot cream in my book. I only wish it came in a bigger tube.
Aveeno Smart Essentials Anti-Fatigue Eye Roller*, Caudalie Beauty Elixir, Nip+Fab Dark Circle Eye Fix, Origins A Perfect World SPF 25 Moisturizer, and Origins A Perfect World Antioxidant Cleanser
I think that there is still half of this in the tube, but the Aveeno Smart Essentials Anti-Fatigue Eye Roller* just doesn't roll very well. You can feel the little ball sliding on your skin, but most of the time no product came out. Boo! I didn't mind the product, when I could get some out.
My bottle of Caudalie Beauty Elixir (review) has sat with the smallest amount left for quite a while. I didn't really want to see it go! I know, once I use up a few other products, I'll be replacing this.
Nip+Fab Dark Circle Eye Fix (review) didn't entirely banish my dark circles, and the pump on the bottle was defective (there seems to be a lot of bad packaging going on in this batch of empties) but it did hydrate well.
The past year or so, I've really come to love Origins products. Origins A Perfect World SPF 25 Moisturizer and Antioxidant Cleanser are two of such. I was pleasantly surprised at how long the tube of cleanser lasted, considering it's their travel size version.
Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Towelettes, No.7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes, and Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes
Considering I usually just use baby wipes to remove makeup (since I'm just going to wash my face again anyway) or to remove swatches, I've managed to finish quite a few different face wipes. Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Towelettes were decent, but they had a very umm... odd scent. Definately not blueberry scented.
No. 7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes (review) were quite nice. I liked that these had a double seal on the package and that they're really moist and stay that way.
I ended up with quite a few packages of these Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes, so I ended up passing them along to friends. I finally cracked open my own package and gave them a go. They're okay, but they don't really get everything off. They're fine if you're going to properly cleanse afterward, or are only using them to cleanse and not to remove makeup.
Befine Exfoliating Cleanser with Brown Sugar, Sweet Almond & Oats, Olay 2-in-1 Daily Facial Cloth, Yves Saint Laurent Touch Eclat, Vichy Aqualia Thermal Soothing & Hydrating 24 Hour Moisturizer, and Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Primer
Dr. Brandt Collagen Eye Serum, Garnier Ultra Softening Lotion- Shea Butter, LA Fresh Acetone-Free Nail Polish Remover- Fresh Tuscan Orange scent, Caudalie S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum, Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet, and Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion
I managed to use a fair number of samples too! I'd like to say I made a dent in my stash, but not so much. I won't go over everything, as that would be terribly dull to read, but there are a few stand outs.
I found the Olay 2-in-1 Daily Facial Cloth tucked in my bathroom drawer, so I gave it a go. These are the neatest cleansing cloths! They're dry, so you run them under a bit of water and scrunch them up to activate the cleanser. They have a soft side, and a textured side for exfoliation. I think they're pretty fantastic and I love that they can never dry out.
I got a whole little set of Be Fine packets, so I popped open the Exfoliating Cleanser with Brown Sugar, Sweet Almond & Oats. I didn't really have much of an opinion going into this but I LOVE it! It's got the perfect amount of grittiness and I like that I can cleanse and exfoliate in one step. I will definitely be getting a full size tube of this.
There was one semi-dud out of the bunch, LA Fresh Acetone-Free Nail Polish Remover in Tuscan Orange. The first time I used these wipes, I only used it to remove a bit of treatment off my nails before a manicure and they were great but when I went to use them again, on coloured polish, they just didn't do much of anything. They do have a really great scent though...
There you have it, all my empties! Have you finished any interesting items lately?
