Essie Swatch Party- Fiji, A Crewed Interest, Van D' Go, Navigate Her, and Going Incognito

There are some really fun four letter words, but one that really tops the list is S A L E. There really is nothing about a sale that one can't love, especially when it's an Essie sale. A few weeks ago, Nail Polish Canada- you know they're my go-to polish source, had an Essie sale and I just had to take advantage. It's not everyday you can save $4 on a bottle.

Naturally, I had to swatch my new additions. Care to take a look? I know you do....

Essie Fiji

Fiji is a pale, whitened, barely pink, pink. Something about this colour makes me think of marshmallows, light, fluffy, powdery pink marshmallows. Ooh, I should try this with a matte top coat to really look marshmallowy... This is a very pretty shade, but you really have to put in some effort if you want it. The formula is really thin with this shade, and streaks a lot during application. I assumed multiple, thin coats would be the best bet, but thicker coats actually got better results. This was four coats- two thin and two thicker.

Essie A Crewed Interest

A Crewed Interest is a pale peach with just a slight pink lean. I've been meaning to get this shade for the longest time, and am so pleased with it. I wore it a few days ago and surprisingly got quite a few compliments regarding it. As pretty as it is, this doesn't have the best formula either. It's thin and prone to streaking. I did manage to get a nice even look with only two coats though- one thin and a second thicker coat.

Essie Van D'Go

Van D'Go is described as being a peach shade (by Essie) but as you can see, compared to A Crewed Interest it is a much more pink toned peach. Like the others so far, this shade has a really thin formula, but thankfully not as problematic. This is two coats.

Essie Navigate Her

Navigate Her is a pale, slightly dusty, green. Something about the tone of it makes me think of either pistachios or pea soup. I wasn't completely sure what I thought of the colour when I picked it out, but it was the first of the bunch that I wore, and I have to say I love it! I have a pretty good selection of green polishes, but none anything quite like this one. This shade has a thicker formula than all the others, and applied with two easy coats.

Essie Going Incognito

Going Incognito is described by Essie as being a 'deep emerald green' which is close, but there is also a slight hint of teal. I don't k now how I had missed this colour, it's gorgeous! This shade has the best formula out of the bunch, as it's thicker and creamier, and so opaque I can almost get away with just one coat. Shown is two coats.

Overall, you really can't go wrong with an Essie polish- or two, or three... or five. Do you have a favourite Essie shade?
