Mary Kay Zen in Bloom Collection Mineral Eye Colour in Garden Sky and Beauty That Counts Compact Mini

I have one last item from Mary Kay's Zen in Bloom Collection. I've shown you the lips (here) and I've shown you the tips (here) and now, it's time to take a look at the eyes in the form of Garden Sky Mineral Eye Colour and a few of it's friends.

Let's get right to it!

'This beautiful palette of mineral-based bright pastels is inspired by a Zen garden and provides the shades you need to get this season’s petal-perfect eye look. The mineral formula provides long-lasting, blendable, fade- and crease-resistant colour, and contains vitamins A, C and E to help protect against wrinkle-causing free radicals. The limited-edition Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color Palette fits perfectly in any Mary Kay compact so you can take this hot, new Asian fusion trend with you.' - Mary Kay

I like the idea of having all the shadows you need for a complete look all together in one pan, and with Garden Sky you get just that- a pale, grassy green, a sandy brown and a vibrant pastel blue. I'll admit, the blue made me a bit uneasy at first (blue eye products always spark that reaction from me) and I wasn't convinced it would apply dark enough to pull the look together, but once I used them (see below) I was a total convert.

The finish of each shade is the same- a lightly shimmering satin- which has a really great formula. It's soft, easy to pick up with a brush, bends like a dream and nicely pigmented to boot. I'd say you get everything you could want from a shadow with this. I wore these shades over primer (currently using MAC Painterly Paint Pot) and found that it stayed put all day (about seven hours) and had just barely faded.

Products used: MAC Paint Pot- Painterly | Mary Kay Mineral Eye Colour- Garden Sky (bown shade, green shade and blue in outer corner/crease) | Avon Mega Impact Eyeliner- Golden Fawn | Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Shadow Pencil- Sin | Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl- Nude | Lancome Cils Booster XL Enhancing Mascara Base | YSL Volume Faux Cils Mascara | Avon Perfect Eyebrow Pencil- Dark Brown | Anastasia Brow Gel- Clear

'This special-edition compact mini features a gold Swarvoski crystal surrounded by five concentric rings that represent the five decades Mary Kay has been in business. The ripples illustrate the concept that one woman is able to - much like a single drop of water- create ripples that have an impact on everything around her. In honour of the Company's 50the Anniversary, from March 16th - May 15th, $1 will be donated from each sale of the Special-Edition Beauty That Counts Mary Kay Compact Mini to support the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation.'- Mary Kay

Mary Kay sells their powder products in pans, meaning you'll likely want a compact to house your items, right? Of course you do, and Mary Kay has your back (jack!) In the form of compacts specially designed to house their pans. The split level compact has full mirror in the lid, a magnetic top layer to pop your pans into and a lower level to fill with your choice of brushes (sold separately.) A really handy way to keep your products organized, and I love the little hole they include so you can easily pop items out if you need to switch things around.

Mary Kay Limited Edition Obi Clutch - free with $55 Zen in Bloom Collection purchase

If you make a Mary Kay purchase from the Zen Collection totaling $55 or more you can snag this (very cute!) Obi Clutch. It's a wallet style clutch with the same watercolour, cherry blossom style print as the collection's packaging and a bold pink interior. Inside there is a pocket with an elasticized top and flap to keep contents in. While the clutch may look like it won't hold much, I was able to fit a powder compact, eye shadow single, mini eyeliner, and lip butter in it with a bit of room to spare. This would make a great little holder for any purse, and, yes, they do include instructions for tying the kimono style knot. It's quite simple once you know what you're doing!

Overall, some really great products to help ring in spring! The Zen in Bloom Collection is limited edition and will be available until May 15th 2013 on
