Avon Big Colour Eye Pencils- New Shades!

I don't think the cosmetic minds of Avon ever sleep. They've had a ton of new items and shades added to their various ranges lately, and this blogger is having a bit of trouble keeping up. Mind you, it's fun trouble, but still. I had a bit of swatch time today with the four new shades joining the Avon Big Colour Eye Pencil family.

Avon Big Colour Eye Pencils- Perfect Peach*, Lavender Mist*, Aquamarine*, and Smoky Sage* 1.6g $9.99

Avon Big Colour Eye Pencils are jumbo pencil that can be used as shadows and liners. They're creamy- they glide on super smoothly and easily. Set nicely- they stay put until you remove them, don't crease  and are even waterproof. What more could you want? These really are great pencils as the quality really is as good as pencils twice (or more) the price *coughs*Urban Decay*coughs*.

Perfect Peach is a shimmery, almost metallic peach. No fancy colour breakdown, it's just peach. It's not quite as creamy as the other shades- the shimmer feels a little less refined, but it applies well with two passes.

Lavender Mist is a medium lavender with a really interesting finish- it has shimmer that almost seems to have a duo chrome effect that shifts tones of pink and gold. I really love this one!

Aquamarine is a quintessential mermaid type blue, meaning it has that teal/blue-green thing going on. You might know what I'm about to day 'shades like this scare me.' Because they do, but I put on a brave face and swiped this on to find out... I love it! On the lower lash line it really makes my eyes pop and look pretty fabulous, if I do say so myself.

Smoky Sage is a silvered sage green with a shimmer/metallic finish with a little bit of a taupe tone as well. A slick of this, blended out, and a bit of black liner would make a really easy, but dramatic eye.

In a 'more is more' theme, I applied all four shades at once. I thought it would look completely ridiculous, but it's not all that bad. I used Perfect Peach in the inner third, Lavender Mist in the middle, and Smoky Sage in the outer corner. I lined my lower lash line with Aquamarine. These didn't photography all that well now that look at it a bit more closely, but you can see some of the pink and gold qualities of Lavender Mist.

Overall, I'm really loving these! Lavender Mist and Aquamarine ended up being my faves, so much so that I ordered a few extras of Lavender Mist to give to friends and my mom- who loves it too! If you're a fan of the Urban Decay shadow pencils, you'll definately enjoy these.
