Nivea Aqua Effect Refreshing Foaming Cleanser and Exfoliating Scrub

Nivea Aqua Effect Refreshing Foaming Cleanser and Exfoliating Scrub

I don't know about you, but I get tired of using the facial cleanser all the time. It's one of the skincare items that I am always changing. I'll use one for a few weeks and then swap it out with something different. There are just too many options to be tied down to the same one. It's also nice to have difference cleansers for different needs and even seasons. Hopefully someone reading this is nodding their head in agreement...

Anyway, I've been using a new cleanser and scrub from Nivea's Aqua Effect line and I thought it was about time I share my thoughts. Ready? Read on!

'Enriched with Vitamin E and Hydra IQ, This formula deeply cleanses and invigorates the skin.' -Nivea

I like foaming cleansers in the warmer months- the light frothy foam is a refreshing way to wash away sweat and grime. The downside is that some can cleanse too well and leave my skin feeling tight and stripped. Nivea's formula is perfect! It cleanses really well- I've used it without taking my makeup off and it was able to get pretty much everything off- while leaving my skin feeling comfortable.

The pump gives the cleanser a really cloud like foam when you dispense it, and it stays foamy when used. Some foaming cleansers don't stay very foamy during use and can end up being a watery mess- no body wants an eyeful of cleanser- this is sturdy foam! It has a really light, clean scent that is pleasant, but dissipates quite quickly, so I can see it being too offensive to those who are sensitive to scent.

Nivea Aqua Effect Exfoliating Scrub

'Thoroughly exfoliates to remove dead skin cells. Visibly refines the skin surface for an even complexion while respecting the skin's natural moisture balance to leave skin looking healthy and beautiful.' -Nivea

You probably know I looove a good scrub, so I was more than happy to give this scrub a go. It has a gel like base with small granules and blue scrubbing beads. The texture is fine, but still coarse enough that you can feel it. I am someone who needs a scrub to feel 'scrubby', when they're too fine, I just don't feel like I've done anything. It's not always the case, it's just me. Anyway, when you apply the scrub and work it onto your face, the base eventually turns white but doesn't lather. Once this is rinsed off, my skin feels great- not stripped, tight or dry, but soft and fresh. I like that this is gentle while being effective. Overall a great scrub!

Both products are great additions to your skincare lineup- especially with the warmer weather on it's way. Do you like to switch out your cleansers when the season changes? What type of cleanser do you usually opt for?

My new storage!

I just had to share my the new home of my skincare items (well, some of them...) I got  new bathroom mirror and it has two storage compartments on either side. I've never had a medicine cabinet type thing, so I'm really excited about it! It's really nice being able to see everything at a glance.
