Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream 54 Pearly Mauve

If you were to ask me what brand does waterproof best, I'd automatically answer Make Up For Ever. Upon taking quick stock of my waterproof items, a vast majority are by the brand. They just do waterproof so well and the quality is unbeatable. Wait... is that a word? Whatever. It is now.

Today, I've got one of the new, limited edition Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in the shade 54 Pearly Mauve.

'Aqua Cream combines the highest-quality pigments with mother of pearl particles to give immediate rich color payoff with a luminous finish in just one application. Its long-lasting formulation will not crease or smudge under the most extreme conditions and its creamy and elastic texture allows for easy blending.' Make Up For Ever

I've used MUFE's Aqua Eyes liners, but not the super popular Aqua Creams. You know how you try something you've known about forever, but never tried, then you try it and feel really lame for waiting so long? This is one of those instances. This is a really nice cream shadow.

Clearly, it's got the whole waterproof thing working in it's favour thanks to its Evaporating oils and a special filmogen polymer work together to set pigments and keep moisture out. Fancy. But is also packs a punch in the pigmentation department. I think most of us have dipped into an amazing looking cream shadow, swiped on, only to be left wondering where the colour went, but that is totally a non issue here. As you'll see in the swatch below, my blended out swatch is just as vibrant and pigmented as my swiped swatch. To go along with that beautiful pigmentation, is the fact that this is product sets to a budge free finish. It seriously is not going anywhere until you remove it. You will have to think fast when applying though, as it does set quite quickly. I went back in to blend the edge out and it was already set. It doesn't crease, fade, or smudge- even when you forget you're wearing it and vigorously rub your eyes. Not that I've done that, I'm just saying...

Pearly Mauve is described as being a 'lilac shimmer' which is pretty much spot on. It's got some blue colour play when you apply it in sheer layers and a shimmering frost finish. It's a really easy shade to throw on with a slightly deeper purple in the crease and a bit of black liner- as I did above. Quick and easy, but put together, and guarenteed to last the whole day/night.

Overall, I am a total fan of Aqua Creams! There is a mint shade that was released with the new shades (#53, I think) which I might just have to pick up. These are just too good not to have a few, and really, who isn't loving mint these days? Not this blogger! Have you tried these?
