avon ideal flawless BB cream

Another day, another BB cream. Pretty much every brand has been dipping a toe in the BB cream pool (and CC, and DD...) Many have ventured into BB territory, but as many of us know, few have gotten it right. Want to see how Avon has fared with their Ideal Flawless BB Cream? Read on!

Without wasting your precious time I get to the point- I liked this, even though it's not quite what I expected.

The formula is thin and feels like a liquid foundation. It doesn't have a creamy, thicker texture like traditional bb creams. Once you begin to apply it, you can feel that it isn't just a liquid foundation, as it begins to feel creamier and hydrating. I am really pleased with how well this hydrates! My skin is usually in some sort of dry/dehydrated state, so I always prep my skin well before makeup, but even so, I could tell that this was adding an extra bit of hydration. Never a bad thing, although it might prove to be too much if you have oily skin.

Avon Ideal Flawless BB Cream- Light Medium*

I received the shade Light Medium, which initially looked a bit too dark. I've used enough bb creams to know you can't judge it by the colour, so I applied anyway and it looked fine. Coverage is light, but more than some drugstore bb creams I've used in the past which is a plus. I find that coverage is nice- it has enough to even out skin tone, blur redness and imperfections but not obliterate them. For dark spots/blemishes you'll want to follow up with concealer, but that is the norm with most bb creams.

The finish is quite natural and slightly dewy. I like to finish this off with a bit of powder through my t zone as I've found I do get a bit shiny through out the day when wearing this. When swtching this, I did notice that it does have light reflecting properties (ie. superfine shimmer.) I never noticed them when I applied/wore this, so they really aren't noticeable on skin.

Overall, this is a pretty good product- it defiantly preforms better than I was expecting and will be a great base to throw on throughout the summer. Have you tried this? Will you be?
