It's almost time to say goodbye to September... I was just checking email and got a shipping notice saying the delivery would arrive on Oct. 2nd. Stupid me assumed that was like a week away. Gah, where did September go? I can't answer that one, but September did bring these new Gel Finish 7-in-1 Nail Enamel. Read on to see how they compare to a gel mani!

the body shop foundation dragon fruit lip butter

Happy Sunday!

Today has been an odd day for me... I woke up to my wall art clanging and the whole house rumbling. It was slightly terrifying, but luckily it was just my annoying neighbor working on his new house. I made a rather amazing lunch- scrambled eggs with cucumber and cream cheese on poppy seed bran bread. So good! There is something about a lazy day lunch that just can't be beat.

Since I've taken a few days away from the blog I thought a little post may be in order, you know, to not be completely lazy today. So, read on!

A lot of times products get over-hyped and even though they're not that spectacular everyone ends up buying them anyway. Then there are the special few that don't get enough love and go under the radar. That's where OPI Avojuice was- I've heard of it, but never heard much about it. But you know what? avon clearskin pore penetrating- scrub, toner & mask

Pores. The scary little (or large...) demons that mockingly stare back at you when you gaze in the mirror too long. No? That's just me?

I have large pores so I am always on the hunt for the best product to keep them in check, so I was excited to put Avon's Clearskin Pore Penetrating range to the test. It doesn't hurt that I love a good scrub and mask. Read on!

the fall edit- green nail polish

I think, I'd have to say that Fall is my favourite season. I like the cooler weather- cooler, not freeze or bits off, ice and snow- and the coziness that the shorter days and longer evenings bring. So when I spotted a Fall Edit tag I thought it might be fun to do. Day one of the Fall Edit brings us green nail polish. Read on to see my picks!

beauty at work- operation smile

A smile. It's something we do everyday. It's a simple movement that can convey so much. It's also something that can easily be taken for granted. You might be wondering how a smile could ever be taken for granted, but for many children born with a cleft- every three minutes a child is born with one- it can mean a life without so much more than simple smile.

the body shop colour crush eyeshadow

There has been an eyeshadow invasion in my little beauty world and I have to say I'm quite excited about it. While I love eyeshadow, I haven't really bought any in quite a while. I do have a hankering for the UD Naked 2 palette, but so far haven't taken the plunge. I tend to be more cautious with eyeshadow purchases because life is too short for sub-par shadows, you know?

I've been playing with the new Body Shop Colour Crush shadows and can report that they are far from sub-par. Read on for swatches!

erase bullying with lush charity pot

When I was in school, I somehow ended up in the 'popular' group. It was a small school so you were either in or out. Looking back, I should have been out. I didn't start school with the rest of the group, so I was the new kid. I didn't wear the same name brand clothes everyone else did. I was quiet and wore glasses. I was the fat girl. None of those traits spell popular but I guess for me they worked. I never experienced bullying, but I now know how fortunate I am that I didn't. I would have made an incredibly easy target.

Easy targets or not, too many kids deal with bullying on a daily basis. With the school year just beginning, now is the perfect time to address such a wide spread issue. Lush has recently announced the newest charity to partner with their Charity Pot Hand and Body Lotion. Read on for more details and what you can do to contribute to the cause.

l'oreal evercreme cleansing conditioner

I try not to hoard beauty related purchases, but sometimes, it just happens. Like with this L'Oreal EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner that's been tucked away in my bathroom for at least a year. Ooops. It wasn't alone though- I picked up most of the EverCreme collection (shampoo, conditioner, and conditioning masque)  and just never got around to trying it.

I recently decided, enough was enough, and opted to try the cleansing conditioner first. Read on for my thoughts!

mary kay fairytales and fantasy collection

Today is the first dreary, rainy day of fall. I've spent it curled up with tea, Feist and a memory card full of photos to edit. Super exciting, right?

I happen to love fall- the sweater weather, pumpkin flavoured everything and general coziness that always seems to accompany the season can't be beat. Of course, there's always the fall collections too, they're not so bad either. The Mary Kay Fairytales and Fantasy Collection brings mauves, berries and golds for eyes, lips and nails. Read on for the full rundown.

the body shop camomile waterproof eye & lip makeup remover and sumptuous cleansing butter

Have you ever noticed that after to place an order somewhere you notice a slew of things you would ordered too but didn't see? Please tell me I'm not the only one who has that issue. I've just been on The Body Shop site and now have a wish list as long as my arm- Brazil Nut Body Butter (better add the scrub too), Vitamin E Cool BB, Absinthe Hand Butter, new Coconut Eau de Toilette... I could go on.

Of course I had to spot all these new things after my order arrived... Le sigh. That won't hinder my excitement though, as I'm completely smitten the two new items from their Camomile range that I recently picked up. I can honestly say that I haven't been this excited about taking off makeup in quite some time. Read on to find out why!

yves rocher hydra vegetal- new additions

You know what I can't stop watching, even though it's completely awful? Four Weddings.

Most of the women on the show are so mean spirited and judgmental... I know it's a 'competition' but still, at the end of the day it's someone's wedding. So what if you didn't like this or that. It's not about you. Granted, the meaner brides do tend to make the show more interesting, and you can't help but watch- and hope they come in last.

What does that have to do with this post, not much... Unlike Four Weddings however, the new items added to the Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal line are far from awful. They're actually pretty amazing, especially if, like me, you tend to suffer from dehydrated skin. Read on!

nail care 101

Nails get their fair share of attention on blogs, but it mostly in the form of polish. You know I love me a little nail polish, but it can be easy to forget about what's underneath the polish- the nails. Nails take a beating, especially when you're continually coating them in chemicals, glitter, sticky wraps.... the list goes on. I thought it might be a good idea to go over some of the items I use to keep my nails looking great- even when they're not polished.

mark. 10th birthday beauty collection

I'm a bit shocked at the fact that mark. is turning 10... Mostly because I can clearly remember when the brand came out and it really doesn't feel all that long ago. I was in high school, and as a then (an now) Avon fan, was really excited that they would have products made more for my age group. I was doubly excited when a friend of my mom got me a professional style mark. train case. She sold Avon and was able to snag one for me when the brand launched. I still have it somewhere...

Anyway, let's get to the goods! Read on to see the gorgeous products mark. has released to celebrate turning 10!

stop, drop and beauty blog hop no.6

I've recently noticed that I've gotten quite a few hits from Blog Hop Buttons- thank you to everyone who still has them on their site- so it seemed like the perfect time to bring it back. No co-hosts this week, but if you would like to be one... well, read on for more info!

essie cashmere bathrobe

Fall polish collections are in full swing and while I am hanging onto summer shades for at least a few more week, that hasn't stopped me from picking up some new fall shades. Essie launched their 'For the Twill of it' collection which included one shade in particular that I just had to have- Cashmere Bathrobe. Read on for swatches!

avon clearskin professional liquid extraction strip

I have large pores. It's no secret. I've come to have a slight obsession with anything that makes claims to help in the fight against unruly pores. As you can likely deduce, I was really excited about trying Avon Clearskin Professional Liquid Extraction Strip. I've used Asian ones- this one, specifically, from The Face Shop- and have really liked them. From what I know of, Avon's version is the first of such product available in North America. Read on to find out if it can win the pore war.

hip hop bling disco ball bracelet

Growing up I didn't learn a whole lot about makeup from my mom. Sure, I had the basics, but it's clear that my love of it didn't come from her. What I did get was a love and appreciation of jewelry. My mom loves jewelry and I guess it rubbed off because I do too. If you ask me which ring is her wedding ring, I don't think I'd be able to tell you because my dad bought her a new ring every few years. He never had a problem buying jewlery as long as she picked it out. They made a pretty good pair in that regard.

Anyway, it's rare that I pass up the chance to try out a new accessory- especially if it's jewelry- so I had to take the opportunity to review one of Hip Hop Bling's Disco Ball Bracelets.
