stila colour outside the lines smudge stick set

Happy Monday, everyone!

How was your weekend? I spent mine fully immersed in American Horror Story. I have had season one on my computer for way too long and decided to 'just watch one' before bed. You can't just watch one! It's really good. Needless to say, I'm now watching season two, which might actually be better than the first. I also found some time to play with a few new Stila goodies, including their Colour Outside the Lines Smudge Stick Waterproof Liner Set. I've always liked Stila as a brand, but somehow have only ever used their blushes. Read on!

'Draw the perfect line this holiday season with our adorable retro-chic tin pencil case that comes filled with stila’s best-selling Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in 5 fun and versatile shades. Each can be worn alone, or combined to create stila’s signature double line look.'-Stila

Before we get into this, can we just take a moment to look at that green. SO gorgeous! Okay, let's continue. This little set includes five full size Smudge Sticks- which retail for $20 USD / $26 CAD each making this set a $100 value!- housed in a cute, reusable tin. As part of the Holiday Collection this makes it perfect for gift-giving, but you should probably buy two because you're going to want one too.

The set includes Stingray- a matte ultra-black, Lionfish- a shimmery brown, Aubergine- a satin burgundy, Navy- a satin navy blue, and Emerald- a vivid Kelly green matte. Emerald is such a quirky shade, but so gorgeous! I like it as a pop with a neutral look. It really works well with brown eyes.

Having never used Stila eyeliners I wasn't sure what to expect from the formula but all the shades are creamy and easy to apply on skin and on the waterline. I was quite impressed with how well these wore on the waterline as they didn't transfer and wore for about 4-5 hours before beginning to fade. Stingray is perfect for tight-lining as it stays where you've applied it and doesn't migrate or transfer to the waterline. I wore Singray on my tight-line and Emerald on my waterline, and not only did both shades last, Singray didn't end up all over Emerald. How amazing is that? You can smudge these out once applied for smoky look, but once these set they're set so you have to be on it. I added Lionfish to a pretty neutral look, and it gave and instant smoky, smoldery-ness that was gorgeous.

Overall, I am a total fan of the Smudge Stick formula! I'm thinking I'll have to add Periwinkle to my next Sephora haul... Ahem, anyhow, defiantly check out the Colour Oustide the Lines Set if you've been wanting to try these, as the set is a great deal. Of course, you could gift too, but you're probably not going to want to! Have you tried Stila's Smudge Sticks? Do you have a favourite Stila product? Let me know!
