mark. holiday 2013 part 2

There are only 20 days left to get your holiday shopping done... Stressed yet?

I have done a teeny bit, but I really don't have much to do as my family doesn't really do presents anymore. We're all adults and can buy our own crap. That said, we do still exchange the odd little thing, because, well you have to have at least one thing to unwrap. Whether you're shopping for yourself or a beauty fan on your gift list mark has you covered with a sleigh-full (see what I did there?) of super cute items sure to please.

Miss part one? Find it here.

mark. Holiday 2013 Exclusive Packaging

I don't always mention pacakaging, but this year's holiday packaging is quite pretty and well worth a mention. The bulk of it is metallic silver (one palette is in gold) features a kaleidoscope pattern with mark's signature pink text. It's almost like it's pre-wrapped... almost.

mark. Trend Mini Nail Lacquers* (set of 2) 2.7ml each $8- Snowberry & Tinseltown and Tuxedo & Gleam Scene

mark. tends to relase a new set of their Trend Mini Nail Lacquers every season, but have graced us with two perfectly co-ordinated sets perfect for gift-giving. Each set contains two mini bottles which are each enough to for 10 manicures. While the bottles are quite tiny, the brush is still easy to use and the polish quality is great- one of these little guys only needs one coat! - with a really shiny finish that wears quite well.

One set includes Snowberry- a cheery, jelly like red with tonal glass-like shimmer (nail line not visible in person) and Tinseltown- a shimmery, silver foil. I was quite impressed with Tinseltown, as it doesn't apply with brush strokes and the shimmer really catches the light and is just plain old gorgeous on.

The second set includes Tuxedo- a black cream, and Gleam Scene- a warm, shimmering gold. Tuxedo was a welcome surprise as it's the one coater I mentioned. It's perfectly opaque with a really glossy finish, making it a perfect black polish.

Looking for the softest brush ever? Search no farther! This brush is soooo soft, I just want to keep playing with it. But, getting past that, it also has the same pink and holo handle mark. has used in the past on limited edition lipsticks- which I happen to love- and it's own little pouch to keep it safe when not in use. Speaking of use (what a segue right?) this brush does everything from powder to blush and bronzer.

Five satiny shades all nestled into a compact palette. What's not to like? This palette includes five lightly shimmering satin shades- a deep green, peachy-copper, orangey-gold, pale golden-cream, and a deep brown (which leans a bit more matte than the other shades.) The shadows all have great pigmentation and smooth, buttery texture. I did find that you loose pigmentation if you try to apply with a sweeping motion, so it's best to pat them on. When patted on you get amazing colour payoff! A great little palette, especially if you plan on traveling.

One palette to rule them all! This ladybug-like palette- the way it opens up totally makes me think lady bug!- has a bit of everything. Including 16 eyeshadows, 4 lip lip glosses, 2blushes and even provides tools to get the job done in the form of  a dual ended sponge, dual ended lip brush, a mini blush brush (it's also very cute) and a full mirror. The brushes are tiny, and not ideal for everyday use, but a nice inclusion if you're using this on the go.

The eyeshadows differed a little bit from the typical mark. formula as they felt a bit drier and were prone to crumbling when trying to pick them up with a brush. However, they weren't powdery and still have pretty good pigmentation- some of the lighter shades have a little less- and do perform well when worn over a primer. It's hard to tell in the swatch, but the deep blue shade has teal and blue shimmer that really catches the light and is quite something.

The blushes- an orange-y peach shade and a raspberry pink- are perfectly pigmented and apply/wear nicely. I like that they included more unique blush options in this. It would have been easy to just throw in two pinks, but they got a bit more creative. Lastly, the glosses. I'm never a fan of any lip products in palettes, but these do have some protection, so you're less likely to get dust from the shadows in them. They're sheer, but do give lips a wash of colour and shine along with being non-sticky and lightly hydrating.

Last, but not least, this super cute (and super useful) phone case/wristlet combo. Made of faux leather- fuchsia patent outer, shimmering antique gold inner- this holds all the essentials needed for a night out. It's designed to fit the iPhone4 and iPhone 4S, but as you can see above I fit my Samsung Galaxy Ace in it as well. It was a smidge tight, but it works. This also has three card slots and an inner pocket which would work perfectly for a little cash. The icing on the... er, phone case, is the keychain that is home to two mini mark. Glow Baby Lip Glosses in Peek-a-Boo, a sheer, shimmer peach, and Girly Girl, a sheer pink. I love how compact this is, making it great on it's own or tucked into a small clutch.

Overall, mark. has really outdone themselves this year! There is something for everyone without breaking the bank. Do you like any of these items? Will you be asking for or gifting any of them?
