notd: subtly snowy

When I set out to change up my nail colour, I had two colours in mind- red or white. Red is good, especially for this time of year, but while rooting around for my favourite red- China Glaze Phat Santa- I had a light bulb moment. SNOW! I ditched the reds and started rounding up whites and glitters to create something snowy. Read on to see what developed!

After trying a few different combination on a nail wheel, I found my perfect combo to be a subtly shimmering sandwich of white, holo glitter, and a milky topper.  I started with two coats of Julep Kate, which is a white cream with a delicate pearl finish. I then added a coat of Nfu Oh GS05, which has a clear base packed with various sizes of holo glitter. They're super reflective and catch light easily, so I knew a coat of Zoya Jane wouldn't mute them too much. I finished it off with my new HG top coat- CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat and was all set.

It seems to have been a fitting manicure, as when I opened my blinds this morning, there was a rather thick layer of fresh snow. What are you wearing on your nails? Let me know in the comments!
