mary kay mineral eye colour- sparkle shades

I hope everyone likes eyeshadow and nail polish because it looks like this week is going to be pretty full of both. Continuing on the eyeshadow train, are four new additions to the Mary Kay Mineral Eye Colour collection. Read on to see all of their sparkling glory!

'The mineral-based formula is famous for its oil-absorbing properties, ease of application and excellent coverage. Plus, these long-lasting, crease resistant, fade-resistant shades look fabulous on every skin tone.'

While small in stature- these guys are so cute and little!- they do bring some serious sparkle. While talking size, yes, these are little, but I actually love that as I've yet to ever finish an eyeshadow, so small means I can get more shades since the price point is pretty great too. These shadows are sold individually in pans, so you'll want a palette or compact to keep them in. The Mary Kay Mini Compact (shown above) conveniently holds six eyeshadows or three eyeshadows and a blush.

Formula wise, these are a little firm and dry when you first dip into them. As mineral shadows, they do work well applied wet as you get the most pigmentation from them that way. When applied dry, they are mostly sparkle, and not a lot of pigment, but when used wet, you can get pretty good payoff- don't go by my swtches, these did not swatch that well, especially the lighter shades. When used, I find it's best to layer them to get the most intense pigment. For the look above I used Sparkling White over my whole eye, then Shimmering Lilac from the crease down, applied a thick line of black liner, then applied Brilliant Black over that for a sparkling smoky look.

Overall, these are great additions to your collection if you love a little sparkle. These shades might not be something you're going to reach for everyday, but for an evening look, these could be perfect. Are you a fan of mineral shadows? Sparkle- yay or nay?
