Clarins Jolie Rouge Brilliant Shine Lipstick | 19 Tropical Pink

Clarins Jolie Rouge Brilliant Shine- 19 Tropical Pink (4)

I've been defying the seasons lately. It started with a little coral blush last week. Then the warm golden eyeshadows came out along with lighter foundations... My face is clearly done with winter. I think we're all ready for the brighter hues that warmer weather bring, and Clarins new shades for Spring give us exactly that. Read on for a peek at one of the new Jolie Rouge Brilliant Shine Shades, Tropical Pink.

'This lipstick combines the transparent colour and shine of a lip gloss with the creamy texture of a lipstick. A unique extreme shine Maxi Lip Complex helps plump and hydrate for full, soft and supple lips, while the  deeply moisturizing and long-wearing formula provides the benefits of a balm with lip care ingredients.' - Clarins

For a brighter shade, the formula is one that is perfect for cooler weather as it's so moisturizing and light on the lips- it truly does feel like a balm! It's lovely to slick on and the sheer shade means you can do it sans-mirror too. The shade looks quite bold in the tube, but as it applies sheer, it's actually a  very wearable vivid coral-pink with light tonal shimmer and glossy shine. It has the typical Clarins lipstick scent- a light, fruity blend- that I quite like as it isn't at all artificial.

Overall, I quite love the formula but I can see some not wanting to shell out almost $30 for a sheer lipstick. Unlike some sheer formulas this isn't ever going to build to opaque- it's sheer and it is going to stay that way. Those who don't care for heavy, opaque, cream formulas will appreciate the balmy lightness. Are you ready to start wearing Spring shades? Have you tried this?
