Mary Kay Hello, Sunshine! Collection | Lip Gel & Creamy Lip Colour

Mary Kay Hello, Sunshine

It's the first day of Spring- yay! Well, the calendar claims that it is, but the three foot snow banks and snow I can see from my window say otherwise. While I clearly won't be experiencing spring for a little while longer, I can enjoy the super cute Spring collection from Mary Kay in the form of their new Hello, Sunshine! Collection. It's a fair sized collection, so today I'm just going to focus on lips with the new Mary Kay Lip Gel and Creamy Lip Colour. Read on!

Mary Kay Lip Gel is a new, limited-edition, introduction to the brand. It's only available in one shade- Cherry Twist a blue based cherry red- which is too bad because this in a great gloss. It's only slightly sticky, but has incredible shine and a decent amount of sheer colour. I love that it's so shiny, but feels lightweight and wears so comfortably. Housed in a standard tube with a doe foot applicator- no fuss, no muss- but adorned with a pale blue cap to tie into the collection. Oh, almost forgot- this has no taste, but a sweet, vanilla type scent.

Mary Kay Creamy Lip Colour is also a limited-edition product, but I really like this formula, so I'm hoping they bring it back again in more shades. The Creamy Lip Colours are semi-matte lipsticks that pack a punch in terms of pigmentation and, as their name suggests have a creamy, smooth feel. They have a slight bit of shine, and look quite natural on lips. The semi- matte finish does get a little bit tacky feeling after a couple hours of wear, which I don't love, but other than that these wear really well- about 4-5 hours.

These are currently available in Carefree Coral- a pink shade with a slight coral tone, and Retro Rose- a rose toned brown. Housed in slim tubes, in the same pale blue shade used throughout the collection.

Overall, I'm a fan of both, but the Creamy Lip Colours are definite must haves, especially if you dig a semi-matte lip. Has Spring sprung where you live? Liking any of these lip products?
