Vichy ProEven Skincare Range

VICHY PROEVEN RANGE (2)

Oh, Sunday... I always think you will be the best day to get SO MUCH DONE, but that never seems to be the case. I had planned on organizing the ever growing pile o'crap on my bedroom floor... well, it's not crap, but it definitely needs to go someplace not on the floor, you know? I got side tracked though. I was just supposed to be clearing off my desk, but before I knew it I was taking photos and playing with makeup. The most fun type of sidetracked, but still not what I was supposed to be doing. Oh well, it did set me up nicely for this post- yes, there is a point in this ramble- The Vichy ProEven range including the ProEven Brightening Cleansing Foam, Daily Dark Spot Corrector and Daily Eye Corrector. Read on!

VICHY PROEVEN Brightening Cleansing Foam
Vichy ProEven Brightening Cleansing Foam* 100ml $19.95 CAD

'A gentle yet effective triple-action foaming cleanser. It gently exfoliates, purifies and brightens the skin tone. A perfect way to start a ProEVEN routine.' - Vichy

First up, the cleanser- Vichy ProEven Brightening Cleansing Foam. A good place to start if I do say so. Formulated with Vichy's Ceraminde Bright, vitamin C and LHA this cleanser works triple duty to not only cleanse but gently exfoliate and brighten skin. The cleanser has a gel-cream texture that transforms into a light foam when used and leaves skin feeling clean and perfectly balanced- ie. clean but not tight or stripped.

Now, brightening is one of my favourite product buzz words, because hey, who doesn't want brighter skin? That said, I didn't expect to see much of a difference from this cleanser, or any really, but was pretty surprised when I not only saw a noticeable difference the first night I used this. I had washed my face and was reaching for a cotton round to apply toner with, when I caught my reflection in the mirror. Low an behold, my skin was brighter! With prolonged use, I've found this to be a really effective cleanser, as the LHA works well to gently exfoliate and keeps my skin from looking dull and keeps it both brighter and smoother.

VICHY PROEVEN Daily Dark Spot Corrector
Vichy ProEven Daily Dark Spot Corrector* 30ml $44 CAD

'For all women seeking to unify their skin tone, fade their stubborn spots (dark spots, brown spots, white spots and sun spots), and reveal a flawlessly radiant complexion.' - Vichy

I have had bad luck with most of the dark spot correctors I've tried, as they tend to break me out. I'm not sure what is the common ingredient in them, but there is little point using something that is just going to cause breakouts that caused the dark spots to begin with. Luckily, since using Vichy ProEven Daily Dark Spot Corrector has not only worked to diminish discolouration but also hasn't broken me out (yay!)

The formula is designed to lighten all types of dark spots and even skin tone with a light, moisturizing texture. I've been using this for a few months and have noticed some improvement- mainly in overall skin tone- and a small improvement in terms of actual dark spot reduction. Not bad, as it is actually doing something, but not dramatic as Vichy claims after two months use. That said, this is a product I will continue to use as I have seen results.

VICHY PROEVEN Daily Eye Corrector
Vichy ProEven Daily Eye Corrector* 15ml $39.50 CAD

'A unique powerful formula that corrects dark circles, dark spots, and signs of fatigue. The result: flawless eye contours.' - Vichy

Last but not least, Vichy ProEven Daily Eye Corrector. I think most of us would like to reduce darkness under our eyes. I wouldn't call my circles extreme, but they do tend to be present no matter how much sleep I've had. Boo! The Daily Eye Corrector is formulated to combat multiple causes of under eye circles with a formula including:
  • Caffine- aids in lymphatic drainage
  • Vitamin B3 - helps reduce inflammation
  • Ceraminde Bright + liquorice extract- controls pigmentation
  • LHA- gently exfoliates
  • Vitamin C + Ceramide Bright- brightens skin tone

The cream has a light texture that absorbs quickly and easily into skin. I find it gives enough hydration, but those with dry eye areas might yearn for something more hydrating. So, does it work? Yes and no. I know, not the most decisive verdict. I really didn't notice this eye cream doing much the first few weeks of use, but after a month or so I began to see a slight difference. Slight. While it is something, it certainly isn't enough to ditch the concealer. This is a fine eye cream overall, but the correcting qualities aren't apparent enough for me to call this a must have.

Overall, I have really enjoyed these products- love the cleanser!- and have made me want to explore more Vichy products. Have you tried anything from the ProEven range? Thoughts?
