There seems to be a bit of a trend with my posts today- long-wearing makeup. Okay, Skindinavia The Makeup Primer Spray isn't makeup, but it is a pretty magical spray that helps prolong the wear time of your current favourites. Not too shabby, right?! Read on!

'Our ultra-fine, silicone-free primer spray provides a smooth, hydrating canvas for makeup application. This patent pending formula includes a specialized Vitamin E blend offering added moisture and a natural barrier to ultraviolet rays.' - Skindinavia

Face primer isn't an essential item for me. Sure, some days I pop one on, but my usual pre-foundation skin prep is mostly about adding moisture. That said, I've been adding Skindinavia The Makeup Primer Spray to my routine and have been quite pleased with it. Too many primers are heavy feeling on skin, or just aren't all that effective. Let's just say that I've tried at lot and loved few. One major benefit of this being a liquid that you just spritz on, is that's it's completely weightless and almost undetectable on skin when it dries. Yes, almost. It does give skin a smoother feel.

While I did find that my makeup wore really well with this- and did seem to be fresher looking longer and stayed in place well- it didn't do much to improve the look of pores. I have larger pores and find not all primers work to minimize their appearance. While this does work well to overall to create a smooth canvas, and prolong wear-time, it doesn't do much in that area for me. I mainly tested the original formula which is recommended for normal to dry skin types, I also tested the Oil Control version- in the wee cute little bottle. I have been a bit oilier than normal the past little while- I tend to have drier skin that doesn't get oily- so I was quite interested to see how well it would fare. When using it, it did work to reduce what oiliness/shininess I get which is pretty amazing! I found it worked to control the oiliness well through my t-zone without being drying or tight feeling at all.

Overall, I quite like this product! I'll admit that I was a bit skeptical prior to trying it, but I've been quite impressed with the results. Skindinavia is currently offering a free travel size bottle of The Makeup Primer Spray (and free shipping!) with any purchase until Friday, June 27th. A great way to try it out if you're on the fence. Are you a prime fan? Would you switch to a spray? Thoughts?
