Spa Ritual Nail Lacquer

SPARitual nail lacquer (1)

A little news before we get to today's post- I have a cold. Ugh. I didn't say it was exciting news, but it's been almost two years since my last cold and I honestly forgot how brutal they are. Secondly, and much more exciting, I hit 1000 blog posts! This post is technically 1005, but still, I can't believe I've sat down to write a post over 1000 times... crazy! But back on topic- one of my favourites at that- nail polish! I've been sampling a selection of Spa Ritual products, but thought it was only appropriate to start with the Spa Ritual Nail Lacquer. Read on!

Spa Ritual Nail Lacquer- Strawberry Fields*

Strawberry Fields is a medium pink with fine golden shimmer throughout from the In Pink Collection. I love the name- which couldn't match the shade any more perfectly- and the colour as the gold gives it a lit from within glow. Formula was pretty much perfection and applied in two easy coats.

The In Pink Collection is an annual, special edition collection in which Spa Ritual donates 20% of profits to Cancer Schmancer, an early detection and education advocacy program developed by actress Fran Drescher.

Spa Ritual Nail Lacquer- Fall in Love*

Fall in Love is described as being a 'mauve red shimmer' but, I see more copper in this shimmery, almost metallic shade. While the formula is great- two coats- it can show slight brush strokes if you don't apply carefully. Fall in Love is a core shade that is part of the Look Inside Collection.

SPARitual nail lacquer- Home
Spa Ritual Nail Lacquer- Home* over OPI Ski Teal We Drop

Home is a teal-green glitter with silver, gold and holo pieces in a clear base. There is so much glitter going on here I didn't initially realize this had a clear base. I decided it needed a base that would give a shade close to how the glitter looks in the bottle, and OPI Ski Teal We Drop happened to be the perfect shade. Formula is great, as there is so much glitter you don't have to fight to place it evenly on the nail. One coat, no topcoat. Home is part of the upcoming Home Collection for Holiday 2014 (available as of October 2014.)

Overall, I love Spa Ritual polishes! It's easy to assume vegan formulas may differ from 'normal' polishes, or have weaker pigmentation or wear time, but these perform really well and are really no different from any other polish. The Spa Ritual lacquer range has a huge selection of shades as well, so there is something for every type of polish fan. Tried them? Which shades are you a fan of?
