Autumn Lip Love

autumn lip love 002

Every season I decide I should do a seasonal themed round up of sorts- be it lips, nails... or whatnot- but it usually doesn't end up happening. Why? Because I'm a terrible blogger. No, well maybe a little bit is that, but I get caught up with getting new stuff reviewed that I forget about the seasonal loves. Bad. So, I scrounged up my most loved Autumnal shades- which wasn't hard as most of them were strewn about the bottom of my purse- to bring you my favourites. Read on!

autumn lip love team nudey-pink

While I love a neutral lip all year round, I've been favouring my nudes through Fall because I've been all about a burgundy/gold eye (MAC Idyllic Paint Pot (LE) + Smashbox Cherry Smoke Palette= Perfection!) And yes, a few of these look pretty similar in the tube and swatched, but I swear, they do look different on lips.

Mary Kay Semi-Matte Lipstick in Pink Moonstone
Sometimes you just need a matte, but the right nude matte can be tricky to find. This shade is more pink than nude, has full coverage, but isn't drying and wears for hours without a touch up.

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Sultry
Another great matte formula that is long wearing but not drying. Sultry is a more intense,90's type red-brown, but still falls into neutral territory.

MAC Modesty
One of my favourite MAC lipsticks! As a Creamsheen, you get great pigmentation with a bit of shine and an easy to wear, creamy formula. The shade is a pinky-nude that not only works with pretty much every makeup look, but should work with almost every skin tone as it's not too cool or warm, but perfectly neutral.

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum
While I have a ton of Revlon Lip Butters, there are really only two I reach for all the time. One happens to be Sugar Plum because it's a plummy nude that not only can be thrown on sans mirror (love that!) but it also gives a good dose of transparent colour and shine while being moisturizing. Perfect combo!

Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick in Frosted Chestnut
This lipstick is an instant favourite! From the first swipe it was love as it's another shade that can be applied sans mirror yet it does give a pretty good amount of colour for a sheer formula. The shade looks quite similar to MAC Modesty when swatched, but on the lips reads more nude and is less opaque.

autumn lip love team bold

See? No lies when I go on about loving Avon lipsticks. When ever I have a hankering for something a little bold or outside of my comfort zone I head to the Avon Ultra Colour Range to do a little colour exploring.

Avon Ultra Colour Matte Lipstick in Matte Berry
One may think deeper for shades for fall, but this raspberry shade is a little bolder without being too bright. The matte formula is so easy to wear, is comfortable for hours and fades nicely.

Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick in Oxford Wine
Things are about to get vampy... Oxford Wine is a deep, dark berry with cool pink undertones, and is a pretty close dupe of MAC Rebel. The formula has a fair amount of shine and is quite stunning with a bit of black liner.

Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick in Perfect Red
Perfect Red is a perfect name because this red is just that if you're after a deep, vampy red. Perfect Red is a brown based red that is actually best described as bloody. The formula is the same as Oxford Wine, as it has some shine and is intensely pigmented.
