Clinique Black Honey Beauty Set

Clinique Black Honey Beauty (1)

Clinique is a brand I don't use very often... Mainly because I don't have a lot of Clinique in my collection, which is odd because it's one of the first 'high end' brands I ever used. I have fond memories of some of my first beauty counter experiences buying Clinique Happy, mascaras and lip gloss. But, since then, not a lot of Clinique has crossed my path, well, until now. I was instantly smitten with the idea of a whole wardrobe of the very popular Clinique Black Honey shade which is currently available in the oh-so-perfect Clinique Black Honey Beauty Set. Read on for a closer look at what's included!

Clinique Black Honey Beauty Set includes almost everything you need for a complete Black Honey look- the shadow is sadly missing from this collection. What you do get however, is A Different Nail Enamel, Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss, Almost Lipstick and Quickliner for Eyes all in the Black Honey shade. Now, I was super pumped about this set, and didn't even read the full description until after I ordered it. I didn't expect all of the items to be full size, but Sephora states that this is a full 'a full-size set...' Humm... Maybe Sephora needs new copy writers, because only one of these products is full size- the eyeliner. I actually expected the lipstick to be the full size item. Anyway, the sizes aren't stingy and I'm still happy with my purchase, but it should be put out there that the products are not the same size as if you were to buy them separately.

Eyeliner is something I don't think I've ever used from Clinique, but if all of their liners perform like the Black Honey Quickliner, then I'll be a total convert. The formula is super smooth and glides on with ease without tugging or pulling on delicate skin. The Black Honey colour is a deep, rich and gorgeous brown-plum shade. The shade is one that will be universally flattering to pretty much every eye colour as the undertone has dimension which will work to bring out a variety of colours and make them pop.

Another new and impressive formula for me, Clinique A Different Nail Enamel. I wasn't sure what to expect from the Black Honey nail polish, as mentioned since I've never used Clinique polishes, but also because deep shades can be troublesome. Luckily, this polish has an incredible formula that is super pigmented, creamy, and so easy to apply. Patchiness can often plaque deep creams, but this one was almost perfect with the first coat. Two coats gave perfect coverage and the most glossy finish- it's seriously impressive how shiny this polish is!

Clinique Black Honey Beauty- Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Black Honey

For those who aren't much for deep lip shades, but want to get in on the plummy trend, Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Black Honey is the perfect choice. While this looks quite deep and intense in the tube, it is actually very sheer and gives lips just a hint of plummy colour. While I would have liked a bit more colour, the formula is pretty great and really does give lips a boost of hydration along with a glossy shine.

Clinique Black Honey Beauty- Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

For a bit more colour, Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey gives lips more of the plummy-red shade. While the formula is still sheer, this gives more colour and can be built up for more intensity. The Almost Lipstick formula is light-weight with a balmy feel that wears incredibly comfortably on lips for hours.

Overall, I am really happy with this set! I can see why the Black Honey shade is so popular as it's undoubtedly gorgeous but also the type of shade that works on every skin tone. I do wish the Black Honey shadow had been included in the set, but I might have happened to pick up the A Black Honey Affair Palette... Stay tuned for a look! Have you tried any of these products? Are you a fan of the Black Honey shade?
