Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick

Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick (1)

Has everyone survived their Thanksgiving induced food comas? If you have no idea what that's about, you likely aren't Canadian, as we had our Thanksgiving over the weekend. That said a Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrated, and Happy Columbus Day to all my American friends and a general Happy Tuesday to everyone else... I think that covers everyone? Anyhow, something that should cater to everyone are my new favourite lipstick- Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick. Don't let the word sheer turn you off, these are amazing!

'Natural shine that leaves your lips radiant with colour! For the first time in a lipstick, Yves Rocher Research has selected Cherry Oil for its extraordinary shine and light refraction power. The ultra-sensory texture of the Sheer Botanical Lipstick melts onto the lips and enhances them with a glossy colour that can be adapted to give you the coverage you want.' - Yves Rocher

When it comes to most makeup sheer isn't usually something one wants, but in the case of these Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipsticks sheer not only works, it works remarkably well. These lipsticks have a light, balmy texture that works well because they not only feel like a balm, they also treat your lips like a balm thanks to the cherry oil which is rich in Omega 6 and 9 - natural sources of protection and nutrition. These lipsticks leave lips feeling hydrated and in better condition than before you applied them- never a bad thing! Of course there is the colour. While the formula differs a little bit- Frosted Chestnut and Black Cherry out of the shades I've tried- these all have a transparent, yet build-able level of colour with a really nice dose of shine. The transparency of the colour makes these apply quite easily, and makes for mirror free touch ups. It also means you can go for a bolder shade and not have to worry how it's wearing away, as these wear amazingly and wear off evenly.

Soft Coral is the lightest shade and the sheerest of the shades I have. It gives lips a wash of a peachy-coral and some shine, but as mentioned is sheer.

Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick- Tangerine

Tangerine is a vivid red-orange with light shimmer. This shade, while sheer, still has a lot of colour and can be build up to get a pretty strong punch of colour.

Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick- Pink Grenadine

Pink Grenadine is a red shade with the slightest hint of pink. Much like Tangerine it can built up to get quite a lot of colour or can be worn in fewer layers for just a wash of rosy hue and shine.

Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick- Bright Pink

Bright Pink is a vivid, cherry pink that reminds me of cherry popsicles as it has the same almost fuchsia hue. While the shade is vivid, you can't build this shade as much as some of the others as this retains it's transparency.

Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick- Frosted Chestnut

Frosted Chestnut is a muted, pink-nude shade. As mentioned, the texture of this shade differs from the rest, as it's a bit heavier and creamier. It also happens to be less sheer, but I don't mind, as it is a gorgeous colour and wears so nicely- this shade has been living in my purse. Fans of MAC Bare Again will love this.

Yves Rocher Sheer Botanical Lipstick- Black Cherry

Black Cherry is a medium depth, rosy-plum. This shade looks very deep in the bullet, but as it's a sheer formula, is less intense on the lips. Like Frosted Chestnut, this shade has a creamier, heavier formula, but wears just as nicely as the rest of the shades.

Overall, I am completely in love with these! These are so comfortable on, and while sheer, still offer a great amount of colour. These are the best combo of lipstick and lip gloss I've tried in some time, and better yet, happen to be on sale right now for almost half off. Do you like hybrid lip formulas? See any shades you love?
