The Face Base with Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation & Instant Concealer

The subjects of today's post have been a long time coming, but the thing is I loved them so much I kind of forgot about the whole share them with the world thing. Does that ever happen to anyone else? I went from the initial testing phase right on to the daily use phase and skipped over the review. So, let's make up for that and get to two incredible products- Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Light Reflecting Foundation SPF 10 and Clarins Instant Concealer.

Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Light Reflecting Foundation might just be one of the best foundations... ever. Big claims, right? It just happens to tick so many boxes for me as it's the best of all worlds. Coverage is light but can easily be built up to a more medium coverage while still retaining a really natural finish on skin. The texture is light and creamy, glides on skin with ease- even dry patches- and hydrates thanks to pink algae extract. How perfect is a foundation that hydrates?

I love that this foundation perfects my complexion but leaves skin feeling like skin. My freckles still show, but my skin tone is evened out and tone is brightened. The formula contains pink opal powder and Clarins Light Optimizing+ Complex which gives skin radiance and luminosity. There is no shimmery component, but skin does look more radiant and youthful.

I've been using shade 102.5 Porcelain, which seems to be the lightest shade based on the Clarins website. The shade couldn't be a more perfect match for me as it has a neutral tone and blends into skin so naturally.

No face is complete without concealer, and no makeup bag should be without Clarins Instant Concealer- it's that good! It's different from most of the concealers I love most, as it has a liquid-cream texture, where I tend to prefer a creamy concealer, but it packs a major punch. Coverage is incredible, but not cakey or overdone and the smallest amount gets the job done. I find 98% of concealers settle into fine lines under my eyes, yet this one has a finish that resists creasing for almost the entire day.

I've been using shade 02, which is just the slightest bit darker than I need for under my eyes, but the peachy tones in it cover dark circles amazingly well and blends into my skin-tone quite nicely. A little dab of brightener over it gives me the perfect shade. My only complaint with this is the packaging as the concealer tends to ooze a bit if you leave it uncapped. I know, don't leave it uncapped, but still. The nozzle can get a little messy with use. Otherwise, this is an amazing product.

Overall, I am a total fan of both of these products! If you're into a lighter feeling/looking foundation and a concealer that offers impeccable coverage without looking heavy, then these are for you. Tried either? What do you look for in your foundation/concealer?
