Aww yeah, new
Avon Ultra Colour Indulgence Lip Colour- Honey Flower, In Bloom, Peach Petunia*, Red Tulip*, and Plum Verbena* 3 g $9 USD / $12 CAD
Avon Ultra Colour Indulgence Lip Colour is designed to be a lightweight gel lip colour with a creamy texture free of heavy waxes that offer vibrant, medium to full colour coverage. They do live up to the description for the most part, although the formula does differ a little bit with some shades. Most of the shades are creamy with a balmy, light feel and the medium-full coverage mentioned, but two of the shades have a more transparent base that feels a bit less creamy and needs to be layered for medium coverage.
These lippies are housed in slimmer, longer, tubes than your standard Avon lipstick, and have a new scent! While I've loved Avon lipsticks for ages, I've kind of hated the artificial fruity-floral scent they usually have. The new scent is a major improvement, although I don't like it either. How fussy do I sound right now? There is nothing wrong with the new melon-ish scent, it's just that I don't like melon. There is a little bit of a melon-type flavour that I don't love, but it's not a deal breaker for me.
Avon Ultra Colour Indulgence Lip Colour- Honey Flower
Honey Flower is a light, beige-nude. This is one of the two shades that has the more transparent formula, but this layers nicely to a medium opacity. The paler shade can emphasize lip dryness- which I've been dealing with- but is otherwise smooth and easy to wear.
Avon Ultra Colour Indulgence Lip Colour- In Bloom
In Bloom is a creamy melon pink with a hint of pink. This looks much deeper in Avon photos- I was expecting a Marsala type shade. While it's completely different than I expected, I love the shade. It's got the creamy formula I described with a bit of shine and is perfect for Spring.
Avon Ultra Colour Indulgence Lip Colour- Peach Petunia*
Peach Petunia is a pinky-peach that's slightly whitened, but also vibrant and incredibly pretty. The shade is more pink based than the name would imply, but how can you not love this shade for Spring?!
Avon Ultra Colour Indulgence Lip Colour- Red Tulip*
Red Tulip is a fairly classic blue beased, cherry red, although it is a touch deeper in person than it photographs. I don't reach for reds on the regular, but this one might just make make me wear red all the time. The creamy formula is very comfortable and stays that way for hours, you get a bit of shine, yet this feels kind of satiny with very little slip so you know it's staying on your lips and not all over your face. Love this shade!
Avon Ultra Colour Indulgence Lip Colour- Plum Verbena*
Plum Verbena is a plummy based berry shade that has the more transparent formula I mentioned. The formula works really well with this shade as it allows you to wear a wash of sheer colour, or build up to something with a bit more depth.
Overall, I am totally a fan of these! The press info I have says they'll be out beginning of April, but they're already on the US Avon site. They're totally worth a little haul should you be feeling shoppy, and with twelve shades there should be something for everyone. Tried these? Like any of these shades?
