A little dose of luxe beauty coming at you today with Burberry's newest lip launch, Burberry Kisses Hydrating Lip Colour. While I have mad love for Burberry Brit- it's one of my all time favourite scents- I've never dipped into their cosmetics. Mainly because they were tricky to get in Canada, but never fear fellow canucks, Burberry makeup is now available from The Bay- yay! But, back to the product on hand. Read on for a closer look at Burrbery Kisses Lip Colour in No. 5 Nude Pink.

'Discover Burberry Kisses, the effortlessly buildable lip colour, designed to give multiple lip looks with just one shade. The weightless gel texture formula delivers a customizable make-up result - a single kiss of colour gives understated luminosity, two or three kisses gives intense depth and vibrancy. A rich blend of satin finish pigments and shiny polymers gives luminous colour brilliance.' - Burberry

Burberry Kisses are essentially a lipstick/lip balm hybrid that offer sheer to full pigmentation with a light, hydrating formula. Having only tried one shade- Nude Pink- I can only speak for one shade, which was a little bit disappointing, to tell the truth. The formula, which is meant to be build-able, is very sheer on the first pass and takes multiple passes to get to semi-sheer coverage, but it will never reach full opacity. The shade is a very pretty, my lips but better shade of pink, that will suit just about any and everyone.

The formula is enriched with a blend of tea, lavender, and rosehip to provide comfort during wear and six hours of continuous hydration. While the formula is very light feeling on lips, it's also quite thin feeling  and quite firm in the tube for a hydrating product. I didn't get a full six hours from this shade, but it did wear comfortably and was lightly hydrating.

Overall, I'm left feeling a little bit underwhelmed by this product. It's okay, but I had higher expectations from Burberry. That's not to say that other shades in the range- of which there are 28- fare better. One aspect that you can't help but love is the truly luxe packaging. Housed in the signature Burberry makeup nickle finish, square tube with Burberry check detailing, the lipstick is subtle elegance. Have you tried these? do you have any Burberry favourites? Thoughts?
