OPI Soft Shades 2015 Collection

opi soft shades 2015 (2)

If ever a time to sport pale, soft and pretty shades, it's Spring. As much as I love a bold, opaque polish shade, I can still get excited about softer, sheer shades too. That's one thing to love about nail polish- you can have it all. The OPI Soft Shades Collection for 2015 brings us six pretty, feminine shades in nude and pink hues with a variety of finishes that is sure to have something for all polish fans. Read on for a closer look!

Chiffon My Mind is a milky white with very fine blue-purple shimmer. The shimmer didn't translate well in photos, but it does give the shade a subtle inner glow that is quite pretty. The formula applied really well, especially for a white shade and was only slightly streaky on the first coat. I used three coats to reach full opacity.

Act Your Beige! is a sheer, milky, pale-nude with a jelly-type squishy look. The formula is buildable, but likely won't reach full opacity. I used three coats and as you can see, nail line is still visible on most nails. I normally am not a fan of sheer polishes, but this gives nails such a shiny, clean, modern look, and I kind of love it.

Make Light of the Situation is a mix of fine shimmer and glitter in silvery and holographic hues. This is the must have shade of this collection as it's hands down gorgeous and makes any base shade that much more interesting. I used one coat over Act Your Beige!

Put it in Neutral is a mauve kissed, pale, milky pink with the same shiny, squishy look as Act Your Beige! and sheer formula. I used three coats and still have some visible nail line.

Petal Soft is a blend of pink and white glitter and large white flowers in a clear base. Yes, you have to fish for the flowers, but if you invert the bottle for 10-15 minutes before use they do jump in the brush a little easier. I used one coat (dabbed on) over Put it in Neutral and love the look. The flowers make this unique, but their size is slightly cumbersome, as they don't lay flat on curved areas of your nail.

This Silver's Mine! is a soft, champagne kissed silver metallic. I like the idea of this shade, but it's ruined by the fact that it's so brush-stokey. I tried careful application, the matte then back effect, and sponging, but it was always a strokey mess. Two coats.

Overall, I ended up liking this collection a lot more than I expected! My favourites are Put it in Neutral, Chiffon My Mind and Make Light of the Situation. What do you think of this collection? Do you opt for softer shades or bolder, brighter hues?
