Happy Hands with The Face Shop

happy hands with the face shop nail pack and gel touch nail polish

Hey, Canadian beauty fans, did you know The Face Shop has been popping up in malls all over our beautiful country? 'Cause they are! They're in the US as well, but the Canadian takeover is happening now, and is majorly exciting. I've been a fan of the Korean brand for a few years now, and while no local malls have a store (yet) I love that I can order direct and get my mask on that much easier. While the brand is best known for their array of sheet masks, they also do some pretty fab things for hands. I've been using The Face Shop Paraffin Nutrition and Milk Calcium Nail Packs and Face It Gel Touch Nails and am quite impressed. Want to make your hands happy? Read on!

I tend to take pretty good care of my hands/nails, but that's not say they don't still get dry and damaged. They do. The Face Shop Paraffin Nutrition and Calcium Nail Packs are straight up amazing. Bold statement, I know, but after using these, my nails look incredible.

Before using the pack, my nails were in a state (I might have picked off a bit of my previous manicure...) My nails were dry, one was peeling at the tip, they had rough spots, and were looking a little ridge-y (which isn't usual for me.) I popped on the individual sleeves and waited the 10-15 minutes to allow the essence/serum time to soak in. The essence has a soft, nondescript floral scent that isn't overpowering, but does linger. When you remove the sleeves, there is a fair bit of moisture left, so I rubbed it into my hands (waste not, want not) which did feel a touch sticky once dry. It dissipated though, and I was left with what looked like brand new nails that were moisturized, smooth, and in healthy looking. I need a whole drawer of these- I'm hooked!

Of course, nails are made for colour, for which there is The Face Shop Nail It Gel Touch Nails. The polish is currently only available in store, but worth perusing if you can. The Nail It Gel Touch Nails formula is big 5 free,  with a long-lasting, gel like finish. The polish has a great squishy quality and tons of shine, while being nicely pigmented and easy to apply. The polish has a small, flat shaped brush that fits nails well, and splays perfectly to make application a sinch. Easy and quick is always a plus.

Of the four shades I've used, two are creams- PP403 (lavender pastel with grey undertone) and OR202 (pastel peachy-orange) only required two coats for opaque, squishy, and glossy coverage.

The two other shades being glitters- SL211 (silver micro glitter) and GL111 (gold micro glitter) can be used over another colour (gradiant style) but build up to fully opaque in two coats. The super fine glitter gives an almost foil like appearance with two coats and again, is super glossy and shiny.

Overall, I'm a fan of both products, but the nail packs have totally wowed me. If you have nails, get 'em. Trust me. Have you tried wther of these products? Do you have a favourite Face Shop product?
