Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème

Happy Monday, blog fans! Did anyone else spend their weekend like I did? Watching episode after episode of Orange is the New Black, telling themselves after each one that they'd only watch one more...I might have finished the season in three sittings, but it was worth it. Other tv related chat, what was with Game of Thrones?! Craziness. Anyway, up for discussion today are some pretty gorgeous lipsticks in the form of Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crèmes. Read on for a look at Core Cora, Amazing, Rei of Light, and Scandal.

Who can deny themselves a new lipstick- especially when it's a sleek Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème? I'm a fan of lipstick from any price range, but the modern simplicity of the MJ tube, weighty feel, and magnetized cap are pretty hard to pass up.

Inside that tube, you get a richly pigmented, smooth, and hydrating tube of colour. While the bullet shape is modern and very appealing, I found the lack of a hard edge can be a bit of a hindrance when it comes to precise application, especially with bolder shades. Anyhow, the lipstick formula contains triple-milled pigments and hydrating ingredients (like peptides, seaberry, and natural humectants of meranti and cocoa butter) so lips get major colour and care. These have a light, creamy texture that is incredibly comfortable on lips. The colour is vibrant and opaque without being mask-like, and has a soft shine, but some shades did need an extra pass for even colour and full opacity.

Core Cora is a vivid red-coral cream. I love a good coral, but will admit I don't wear them that often, but this shade is changing that. I love that this shade isn't too bright, but has a vivid tone that brightens your look and is just so pretty.

Amazing is a pretty classic red, Marc Jacob calls it a 'candy apple red', that will suit almost everyone. While the shade isn't the most unique, it is gorgeous, and when combined with the Lip Crème formula, you get a pretty amazing red.

Rei of Light is a toasty brick red. In the tube, this doesn't read as brown as it is on, but the red tones are still quite prominent. This is a great shade if you're not sure about brown lip shades, as this is the best of both and is super wearable.

Scandal is a deep, vampy plummy-purple. While this isn't an everyday shade for me, I love it! This shade was a little bit troublesome to apply thought, as it can be patchy and uneven and works best when dabbed on and layered. A similarly hued lip liner would be helpful too. That said, I have been applying a wash of this with my finger and topping it with MJ  Taboo for a great plummy effect.

Overall, these are a nice little indulgence. The formula is super friendly to lips, and with twenty shades to choose from, their is something for all makeup bags. Have you tried these? Which shade(s)? Thoughts?
