The Fast Five | Polish Picks For Toes & Tips

the fast five polish for toes & tips (2)

It's summer (yay!) which means you're likely going to be sporting some type of cute, toe bearing footwear. Why be caught with bland (or, perish the thought,) bare nails. Toes are prime colour real-estate, and the perfect opportunity to rock a shade you wouldn't normally weer on your fingers. In this edition of The fast Five, I'll share with you some of my favourite shade combos for summer. Read on!

Nude + Neon
My go-to combo for summer is nude tips with neon toes. I love a vivid, punchy colour on toes, and you can't get much more vivid than a hot neon shade. I'm still very much a fan of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy for toes (even if it scares my cat) which pairs nicely with one of my favourite nudes Essie Topless & Barefoot on fingers.

Clean White + Classic Red
If a cleaner, more refined summer pairing is more your style, pair a crisp, clean white on hands, and a classic cherry red on toes. I find white polish often needs to be reapplied sooner than other shades, as it can look worn fairly quickly, but a glossy white nail is always stunning and enhances a tan. Avon Iceberg White Gel Finish is super glossy and holds up well for a few days longer than other white shades I've used. For red, OPI Red Hot Rio has that classic cherry red hue and a crelly-like formula that is all kinds of perfect. Plus, red toe nails are instantly sexy.

Peach + Gold
Peach and gold... two shades begging to be paired together. Listen carefully. Can you hear them? Peach shades can vary wildly, but as it's summer, a bright shade is in order, like China Glaze Sun of a Peach. For golds, I like something a bit less yellow toned, but with plenty of metallic sheen, like Ceramic Glaze 24 Karat.

Coral + Navy
What is summer without coral? Coral lips and coral tips (or toes) gives an instant warm, summer day vibe. I love a pop of coral (OPI Down to the Cor-al) with a bold navy like China Glaze Man Hunt. This pairing works well with either shade on tips or toes, but personally, I like to go coral on fingers and blue on toes.

Mint + Rose Gold
If you're all about trendy hues, mint and rose gold are for you. OPI Thats Hua-rious is the perfect summer mint as it's a bit brighter and  has a sun-bleached neon vibe. For rose gold, is there any better polish than Orly Rage? No. It's perfect. If you're not a mint fan, or are over the mint trend, Orly Rage also pairs gorgeously with Sally Hansen Sugar Fix, a vivid blue cream ( that I might just be a touch obsessed with...)

There you have it, five pairings to suit almost every polish style or mood. Of course, any shades you love make for perfect mani/pedi parings. What shades do like for summer?
