You can call it gimmicky, but I am always intrigued by skincare gadgetry. I guess I'm drawn to any kind of gadget, but something to make your skincare work better, or just be more effective than the 'normal way' and I'm all in. What does it hurt to try it out, right? My most recent skincare gadget comes from Michael Todd, with their Eye Eraser Ant-Aging Infusion Duo which combines the Micheal Todd Eye Eraser with their Intensive Organic Cream Eye Cream. The duo contains an eye cream and the star of the show, the Eye Eraser. The Eye Eraser is a battery operated (one AAA battery, which is included) device that both massages and warms to 'maximize the absorption of serums and creams applied to the face and eye area'. I really wasn't sure what to expect from this, but it's kind of amazing! The device has no on and off switch, but is activated when it comes into contact with skin. When you first place it on your skin, you get a cooling effect from the metal surface, but it begins to warm (to 42 degrees C) which is really soothing and pleasant, but more importantly works to relax pore lining for maximum absorption of products, to stimulate collagen production and circulation which aide in the regeneration process.

The device not only feels good, but it does good. The sonic micro massage (more than 150 times per second) works better than your fingers can (so long tap, tap, tap method) to distribute products into skin as the negative ions carry product below the skins' surface making them more effective. The massage feels great and leaves skin instantly refreshed and soothed.

While you can use the Eye Eraser with what ever products you love, the duo comes with the Intensive Organic Eye Cream Treatment ($44) The cream has a light, lotion-cream texture that is quite silky. Formulated for all skin types, it works to treat visible signs of aging around the eye area. The formula includes a host of clinically validated compounds- Haloxyl, Eyeliss, and Matrixyl 3000- along with natural organic ingredients (including aloe, rooibos, olive, pomegranate and calendula.) I've been using the eye cream with the Eye Eraser, and have been very pleased with the results. I tend to have dark circles and general dryness around my eyes, and have found a slight decrease in discolouration (I'll take it!) and smoother skin with my fine under eye lines looking less pronounced. I do find that eye cream leaves my skin a bit shiny after use, but it leaves no film or residue and absorbs well.

Overall, I like both products, but the Eye Eraser is a major love! I didn't expect to enjoy it so much, as it really does make applying eye cream a pleasure, but I love that I've seen visible results too. While I mainly just use this on my eyes, the Eye Eraser can be used around the mouth, on lips, and anywhere else on the face to combat fine lines and aging while increasing product efficacy. I would love to see a larger device to use on the whole face. The Michael Todd Eye Eraser Anti-Aging Infusion Duo is exclusive to Ulta, but both products are available individually, direct from Micheal Todd. What do you think of skincare gadgets? Would you or have you used anything like this?
