Michael Todd Intensive Cream Lip Treatment

Michael Tdd Intensive Cream Lip Treatment (2)::: press sample :::

Lip balm, oh how I love thee. Saviour of dry lips everywhere, soother of chaps, and really, a beauty staple beloved by all. As much as I love my balms (and I truly do) I've realized there is another way to get lips into the skincare game: lip treatments. Two have come into my life recently (see the other here) but today it's all about the Micheal Todd Cream Lip Treatment. Interested? Read on!

The Michael Todd Cream Lip treatment hydrates lips as a balm would, but unlike a balm has a multitude of other benefits. The anti-aging formula works to plump, firm, and smooth lips and surrounding skin while treating and preventing the visible signs of aging nobody wants (aka fine lines.)

To do all of these wondrous things, the treatment uses key ingredients:

Soluble Collagen
  • Naturally occurring protein in the skin that is responsible for skin’s elasticity and firmness
  • Infused collagen plumps and smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles from the inside out

Hyaluronic Acid
  • Naturally occurring hydrating water binding molecule
  • Attracts water to the skin’s surface to plump and smooth fine lines and wrinkles from the from the inside out while delivering nourishing hydration to the skin’s outer layers

Actimp™ (Peptide blend extracted from Parisian sustainably farmed Sweet white Lupine Flower)
  • Sweet white Lupine was first recognized 2,400 years ago by Hippocrates for its’ nutritional and medicinal value
  • Present day, extracted peptides from the Lupine flower are clinically validated to strengthen the dermal-epidermal junction restoring elasticity & firmness while healing & repairing through an increase in collagen & elastin production and a decrease in damaging enzymes
  • Clinically validated to increase collagen production by 95% after 10 days
  • Protects and preserves the skin’s firmness and elasticity by halting the production of destructive enzymes produced by the skin due to UV exposure by 93% in 10 days

Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice
  • Nature’s first aid kit is known for its’ soothing, healing and anti-inflammatory properties

The treatment has a creamy, moisturizer-type texture, which I find feels a little odd on the lips because it's not what I typically slather on. Change is weird. It does transform into a balmier feeling, oil like substance as you massage it in and absorbs well into lips and surrounding skin. While you can apply this with just a finger, Michael Todd recommends pairing it with their Eye Eraser (review) which is an amazing little gadget that warms and massages skin so products absorb better and penetrate skin more effectively. The effect is really soothing and take product application to a very luxe level.

Overall, I really like this lip treatment. While I don't have the visible signs of aging that this treats (just yet anyway) I love the fact that I can prevent them and hydrate my lips. When paired with the Eye Eraser tool, the effect is amplified, and really quite nice. I love my Eye Eraser for on my eyes and enjoy it just as much for my lips. It's definitely a luxury type item, but one worth adding to your routine if you're a skincare lover. Have you tried any lip treatments? Do you have any favourite Michael Todd products?
