It's a brand new blog week, and I'm pretty certain you'll be mildly pleased with what is to come. I say mildly because I don't want you too get too excited. Best to leave you wondering. No wondering about today though, as it's all about Make Up For Ever with one of their newest foundation launches, the Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation. There might also be a few bonus items... Read on!

MUFE's recent launch of their Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation included a stick version *insert oooohs and ahhhs here* The stick version hasn't gotten as much adoration as it's liquid brethren, but having used both, I say it's just as great. The stick foundation comes housed in a chubby little twist up stick, nothing fancy, but it's effective. The product within has a creamy texture that is easily swiped onto skin and blended out with your tool of choice. I've been using my Real Techniques sponge, but a brush, or fingers works just as well. The creamy texture of the stick offers more coverage than the liquid, but retains the dreamy finish aspect. The foundation melds with skin remarkably well, leaving skin perfected, but not masked. While I love the finish, I did find that this stick formula tends to get a bit patchy on my dry spots, but I didn't have issues on areas with larger pores.

I find the finish to be the perfect balance, as it's quite natural and not too dewy or fully matte. Unlike the liquid version, which I've found can get shiny after a few hours, this doesn't and I can wear sans powder. I do chose to give a light set though just to keep everything in place.

While the stick foundation is perfect for wearing on it's own, I like it as a mate for the liquid. The liquid has a light coverage, which I like for day to day, but sometimes need a bit more. I find a bit of the stick over the liquid is the perfect pair for added coverage where I need it, and the formulas wear well together.

Oh, I should talk shade range... The stick has a smaller range of shades, with fifteen (compared to 40 in the liquid) so some may have a tricky time finding a match. It just happened that my best match in the liquid has a corresponding shade in the stick. The shades are pretty much exactly the same (see my comparison swatch above) and read as the same shade on my face. I have seen grumblings online that the shades don't match when going from liquid to stick, but 115= R20 Ivory (my shade) isn't an issue.

The super nice MUFE rep sent a long a few extra with my foundation- isn't that awesome?! I was mighty excited.

A fresh tube of Smoky Extravagant Mascara that I've been loving. I haven't had a tube for a bit and had forgotten how much I love the formula. If you want a does-it-all mascara (volume, length, definition) try it, you won't be disappointed. While it's not waterproof, I do find it wears like one with no flaking, and it holds a curl like no other.

A black liner is a must have, with a waterproof formula being a necessity should you plan on tightlining or waterline action. The Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in 0L Black is a matte black that is a touch firm for lining on eyes, but works wonderfully for tightlining as it stays on the upper area and doesn't migrate.

Lips weren't left out of the party, as a classic red duo was also included. The Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in 43 Moulin Rouge is a classic red with a satin finish, that pairs perfectly with Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner in 8C Red. The pair makes for a classic cherry red lip that lasts pretty much all day.

Overall, I'm a fan of the stick foundation. As I mentioned, it's a nice addition to the liquid, but does wear well on it's own. I love that it's so compact and an easier way to travel with foundation (no bulky bottle or worry of leaks.) Are you a fan of stick foundations? Tried this?
