A very late start to my blogging day, but I do have two pretty great skincare bits that kind of make up for the fact that I've made you wait. Kind of? Bio Beauté by Nuxe is kind of like a little sister brand to the main Nuxe range, but is home to some really exceptional products. You're basically getting the same quality skincare (ahem, French quality at that) but at really reasonable prices. I've been using two new products in the form of the Bio Beauté by Nuxe Flash Perfection Beautifying Serum & Silky Perfecting BB Cream. Want to know the full scoop? Read on!

I've become a bit serum obsessed, so I was all over the Bio Beauté by Nuxe Flash Perfection Beautifying Serum. The serum is touted as being 'The 1st certified organic skin enhancer, that acts on the three factors of photogenic skin to guarantee a perfect skin.' Sounds pretty good, right?

The serum has a light, gel-cream texture that is very quickly absorbed into the skin. The effect is instantly seen as it perks skin up with the slightest bit of luminosity. It's not sparkle, but skin does look that little bit more refreshed. Skin also feels smoother and lightly moisturized. Many times serums don't feel like they're doing much, with results not being visible until months of use, but this has a more instantaneous effect. Major bonus! I strictly use this as a day serum- it's great prior to makeup- as I tend to go for a more treatment based serum for the pm.

The serum works nicely as a primer for BB cream which leads to our next products pretty perfectly. The Bio Beauté by Nuxe Silky Perfecting BB Cream is one of the dreamiest, creamiest, and most hydrating BB creams I've had the pleasure of using. It's really good.

Available in two shades (Fair and Medium) the BB combines the correcting action of mineral makeup with the care of a skincare product to smooth wrinkles and fine lines, conceal imperfections, and unify skin tone. Basically, everything a good BB cream should do. The formula is paraben free, suitable for sensitive skin and includes natural ingredients including plant glycerin and organic peach extract. And yes, you do get a hint of fresh peach scent (yay!) Along with mineral pigment, white tea extract, organic bilberry, and plant oil extract.

As I briefly mentioned, the texture is super smooth, creamy, and just a bit rich. The BB give skin an instant hydration boost that lasts all day (with claims of 24 hours of hydration.) The coverage is light, but enough to actually give skin an even tone and blur imperfections. A bit of concealer and powder and you've got perfected skin without the look of a full face of makeup. Bio Beauté calls the finish matte, but it's dewier than than matte yet not fully dewy. Natural is the best label.

Overall, two really great products. I'm hard pressed to pick a favourite, but it might just be the BB. I love that the coverage is more full than some and that the formula is so hydrating. That said, you can't go wrong with the serum... Get them both! In Canada, Bio Beauté by Nuxe is exclusive to Shoppers Drug Mart with many products also available from their Beauty Boutique. As for the US, I'm having a hard time finding a retailer, but you can use the Bio Beauté by Nuxe store locator on their website. Have you tried the brand or either of these products? Thoughts?
