Foolproof Blending with Demeter Fragrance Duos & Trios

Demeter Foolproof Blending Duo and Trio (3)::: press sample :::

You know I love a bit of Demeter right? I've been a fan of the brand since I was a teen and I can't see my love for them fading any time soon. Especially not when there are so many different scents to try, and so many ways to blend them. The beauty of Demeter's singular scents is that you can mix and match and blend away. You can literally create an endless number of custom scent creations. The the idea of choosing from their massive catalog seems daunting, never fear; Demeter Foolproof Blending Kits are a great way to get started. I've been blending with the Clean Skin and Sunshine Duo and the Vanilla Base Note Trio. Clearly, I smell amazing, but read on for my thoughts.

Demeter has come out with a few different ways in which to blend your scents, but the Foolproof Blending Duo Custom Fragrance Kits give you the most control. The kits come with two scents- you can check them out here- along with a funnel, pipettes, and an empty bottle so you can save your favourite combo. You can totally just spritz on different scent combinations, but the bottle allows you to "indulge your inner perfumer" and re-create the same combo everday when you find a favourite.

I received the Clean Skin and Sunshine kit which includes Clean Skin, an clean, fresh scent that is fairly neutral with a bit of a soapy element. Clean Skin pairs perfectly with Sunshine, which is a fresh, warm scent that is clean and a bit sweet with a slight floral twist. Its hard to describe, but it truly does give you a sunny vibe. I find Clean Skin to be pretty mild once dry, so I use more of it when blended with Sunshine. The pair works really well together, but if you want to take your blending up a notch, you're going to need to expand your notes...

Demeter Foolproof Blending Trio Vanilla

As most fragrance fans know, perfumes are made up of various elements with base, middle and top notes. The Demeter Foolproof Blending Trios combine three scents in combinations of base, middle, or top notes to add to your blending experience.

I've been using the Vanilla Base Note Trio, which includes Angel Food, Hawaiian Vanilla, and Gingerbread, to add a bit more depth and interest to my custom scents. I happen to love vanilla, so this kit really speaks to my nose. Angel Food covers your sweet vanilla as it is exactly as the name suggests with a cakey-vanilla note. Hawaiian Vanilla is less sweet, with a hint of what I'd say is vanilla blossom that gives a warm, tropical vibe. Gingerbread is a bit different, as it's not entirely vanilla based. You do get a bit of vanilla, but the spices (ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg) really make up this scent.

I haven't decided exactly what combo I will bottle, but my favourite scent consists of a few sprays of Clean Skin and one or two of Hawaiian Vanilla. The Clean Hawaiian? I'm still working on a name, clearly, but the scent is fresh and bright with a warm vanilla undertone. I happen to love it!

Overall, you really can't miss with any Demeter scents as there is something for every nose.I love that you can get totally creative and blend your own scents, or wear them as is. As much as I like blending, I tend to keep Gingerbread as a solo scent because it's just so good on it's own. I received these Demeter scents as part of a campaign through the Canadian Beauty Bloggers network (go, Canada!)
